How to pick, how to pick...

Hello
I'm a dual wielding, grand master katana and longsword - on the way to get bastard sword leveled as well.
I have a hard time picking which swords to use. This is what I've narrowed it down to so far;
Main Hand: Celestial Fury. Due to it's good properties and in particular the stunning effect.
Off-hand: This is where it gets hard.
At the moment I'm using Blackrazor, however I've recently aquired some other potentially great weapons.
The Answerer
Angurvadal
and
Hindo's Doom
I believe, seeing as I only get one attack per round with my off-hand, that I should pick something with good "attributes" instead of brute force. This is why I use Blackrazor. But I'm torn between that, the great extra abilities of the Answerer and Angurvadal's properties. Hindo's doom is just thrown in there in case my theory is incorrect.
By the way, the 22 strenght with Angurvadal isn't going to work wonders for me, as I've got 21 naturally.
Could a BGII virtous person please help me in solving this little dilemma of mine?

I wouldn't wield Celestial Fury if I were you...
Personnaly, I would choose (from the list below) : The Answerer +4 (Main Hand) and Hindo's Doom or Angurvadal (Off Hand)
(Main Hand)
- Angurvadal +4/+5 (Fire Damages - Pass through Stoneskin)
- Blackrazor +3 (Chance per hit to Heal/Haste User, Level Drain Target, and gain +3 Strenght, )
- The Answerer +4 (-2 AC for the Target per hit, Lower Magic Resistance)
- Celestial Fury +3 (Paralysis, +20 Electrical Damage)
(Off Hand)
- Angurvadal (Bonus to STR, Immunity to level drain)
- Hindo's Doom (Magic Resistance +10%, Immunity to Death Magic)
- Blackrazor (Regeneration, Immunity to Charm and Fear)
-----------
(Main Hand) - The Answerer gives you decent damages with good on-hit abilities (to reduce target's Armor Class and Magic Resistance is really good, especially on bosses)
(Off Hand) - Hindo's Doom, wich gives you a nice bonus to Magic Resistance, and protect you from death magic would be my second choice. My first choice, Angurvadal, is a good off-hand choice, mainly because of the strenght bonus and the ability to deal (decent) damages, and even disrupt spell casting (via fire damages).

All right.
I'll try your combo and see if its in my taste.
Thanks for the advice.

There are few better off-hand weapons than that longsword. Cespenar can asemble it too, you know. Unless you lost half of the necesarry items, of course.

The only way I know of increasing your STR to 21 naturally is to get 18 and raise it with a tome in BG1 (or go half-orc, no tome needed), then get the STR bonus at end of ToB, which you obviously have passed if you have assambled those ToB-weapons. It's possible to Tome+Deck+Lum's Machine it too I guess... but the chance that that's what you have is a little lesser.
So anyways, those +2 STR you get from the end of ToB actually works with any other items. That is, Angur would raise your STR to 24 (+2 to hit and +3 damage more than 21)... which isn't that much, I realise now >.<
Anyway, I don't see why you don't use Belt of Fire Giant Strenght instead of this, but in case you don't want to use it, Angurvadal is a weapon that was made to be wielded in off-hand. (Sweetest immunity ever, nice strenght boost and fire damage to finish of trolls and whatnot.)
Personally I would go FoA+5 and Crom Fayer, a combo that's proven it's power over and over again to me. Most other dual-wielding combos looks like a joke when it comes to damage output.

How about Axe of Unyelding/Belm (or in second choice Crom)?
The extra attack plus the vorpal effect is just awesome.

Gotta keep it to longsword, katana and bastardsword.
So far the strenght bonus of Angurvadal is pretty much negated by Blackrazor, which almost instantly in any long going fight grants me 25 strenght, haste, regeneration and healing.
I've found that I so far prefer to change between Celestial Fury and the answerer in boss fights, whereas Celestial Fury is simply superior when it comes to battling minor beasts, as it renders the monsters immobile, paralyzed, making it much easier for me to avoid casualties and raining quick death upon my enemies.
I'm quite comfortable with Korgan wielding Axe of The Unyeilding and Viconia with Crom Feyer, so they can provide maximum support.

Can't find the items. Must have sold them or thrown them out.
I'll try to cheese it into my inventory via Shadowkeeper to see if it's a viable candidate.
Thanks for the heads up, mate.

I've always been a big fan of The Equalizer because of the immunities it provides. However, after reading
this thread, in which you've even posted yourself, my respect for the sword has actually grown even more.

I see!
That is one old thread you found there. Completely forgot about that.
Seems that is one mean weapon!
I'll be sure to test it ASAP. Pity I'm at the final battle, though.

Then, by all means, use Blackrazor or Angurvadal this time around and save the trouble of assembling that pearl of a longsword for your next game.
Out of the two, I prefer Blackrazor, by the way. I love its abilities and, when dualwielding longswords, I use Blackrazor for my main-hand and the Equalizer for my off-hand. I got kind of attached to that combo.
Celestial Fury and Sanchuudoku (tactics) are my prefered choices when using katanas. A truly lethal combination. When I take Dalis along, he's the one using this combo. He and these blades make a fine pair.
I'm not really such a big fan of flails, warhammers and maces. They're not stylish enough for my taste. So unless Anomen is venturing along, I rarely carry Crom Fayer and the Flail of Ages.

You haven't quoted Foebane (bastard sw.), I think that shouldn't be discarted so easly.

Well, the larloch's drain only works when it lands a hit and doesn't give such a great bonus... but well. It's decent, and always a good option to have in cases where you're fighting planar beings or are in desperate need of health.
