Could someone tell me where to receive the quests for both the Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild?

The Guild of Fighters has a building in Fargrove and Arindale. In Fargrove it is "Arms of Argus Armory" and it is right next to the South Gate. Go in there and ask about the Guild of Fighers. In Arindale, it is the building that is second most north building on the west bank.

The Guild of Mages has a building in Fargrove and in the Devil's Marsh. The one in Fargrove is right next to the moongate. Just go in the building and ask about the Guild of Mages. In the Devil's Marsh, the swamp hag is located in the upper north section.

In both cases, you can visit the ones in Fargrove first.

Mage guild quests : initiate - return staff of scorching to Rianne the Wican,
she is in dead march (travel from west gate of Fargrove, then turn to Bolen Fields and follow the sign to dead march, she lives in hug at the end and gives you another quests for Sorcerer and Battlemage)

Fighter guild quest: initiate - return sword of striking to Hall of weaponry in Arindale ( travel from west gate of Fargrove to Arindale and visit Hall of weaponry and there you can train to Knigth or Marauder and get special quest for each tier)

Thanks, guys! I have gotten very far into the game with collecting the relics, cannot locate Vartugg in Skuldoon even though I used the blood in the Vale of Ruin and got the eye for him, so figured I would just do my guild quests and then quit the game!

Vartugg will show up when you put four of the five relics into Talendor. Then he will give you a password to get into the Black Swamp and get the last relic.
