I just started the game and am stuck already. I went downstairs, killed the guy with the sneak attack and then I am to go thru the door. I can't loockpick it. I use my vampire powers, then the loockpick but still can't open it. It says my loockpick skills are below 3. What am I doing wrong? Help!

You need to scroll to the blood buff power, then right click on it to activate it. This will boost your dexterity (and as a by product your lock picking) over three. Lock pick the door before the discipline times out.

I can't help you... LOL
I didn't even get to this part before I got ticked off with Jack and started the game from the beginning, , minus the tutorial, deciding I would figure things out for myself... I didn't really feel that Jack had taught me anything anyway...

The tutorial is useful for getting the basics down and to get a bit of insight into the game's major themes. More importantly, you get 2 experience from doing it. So, that's nice to have.

Forbsolutely. I still do the tutorial, not because there is anything to learn from it, but for the 2 XP that Faust mentions. No XP is so useless that one should sneeze at it.

Yes, but it takes too long... and at this point, ,with all the cheating and elevating myself to the point of which I am utterly unbeatable, I don't really need the experience...

I take it you have the console figured out.

I've got it pretty well figured out, yes.

It takes too long ?!? So - are you somehow in a hurry ?
I prefer games with long playing time - and I'm quite happy that Bloodlines is a title with about 60 hours (as I've heared), "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" had "only" 30-40 hours (even if I suspect Bloodlines to be not really MUCH longer because KotoR is assumed to have 50 hours, too).
So I don't mind the "long" tutorial.

Its often quite fun except if you're asked to sneak past a guard with Obfuscate 1 and Stealth 1

... (which means you don't have any hide effect when moving at all).

What you have to understand about me, is that I am
always in a hurry. And when I'm not in a hurry, I tend to think that I am.
