Pickpocketing

I'm still designing my party "the Hands of Fury"

I was wondering if I miss out on much treasure without a good pick pocket. I'm not worried about gold, just items.

I know of only one thing you can pick-pocket (non - scroll gold gem etc)

SPOILER

Lucky Knucky

(i scrolled it down in case my black font didn't work right)

I've never worried about it. You get most of the good loot by laying a good ol' fashioned whupping on bad guys anyway. ;)

I have to admit, though, that I've never done a systematic pickpocketing rampage of all the neutral NPCs. Unlike IWD/HoW, you have to pickpocket a whole boatload of useless items and single gold pieces before you get anything good. And the consequences of failure to PP are pretty brutal - I hate hitting quicksave about 20 times to clean out a single character.

Aerich,

good news. Just making sure I wasn't missing out on something key. Yes I agree that a chunky death two a 2 handed keen axe is more picturesque AND satisfying than 20 reloads.

On the other hand have you tried pickpocketing people who have already given up all useful information/sales/quest xp/anything of value. Just for the purpose of turning them (and their friends) hostile and then chopping them up with said axe?

Thats what my team is all about. In fact I think I'll keep the rogues pickpocketing above zero but less than 5 so he is sure to fail with said results.

The POWER shall be mine!

just kidding (although I do happen to have an evil party).

Suit yourself. ;)

No, I generally don't kill off NPCs that have served their in-game purpose. Given that you end up killing off 98% of the beings you meet, I leave them alive because it's nice to see a friendly face once in a while. :)

It would be fun to kill the ones that have irritated you though...

Like the crane operator...

I haven't killed him yet before but I've always secretly wanted to at least cast a contagion spell on him or maybe mold touch.

I don't want oswald hostile though...

So must be good....must be good....untill my rise to power!

Its Icewind dale. So you can cast cone of cold on the friendly faces and then drag them around with you. Drop them if you enter kuldahar unless your so demented as to enjoy the smell...
