Killing Kangaxx with Ras. Anyone?

I found a rather simple way to kill kangaxx.
The first form is easy.
The problem with the second is that it is continuosly casting Imprisionment.
Here is what my solo assassin/fighter done:

1 - Get out of Kangaxx range of view.
2 - Equip your character with Ras and Staff of the Rynn
3 - Cast symulacrum (Helm of Balduran)
4 - Summon Ras with one of them
5 - Attack with Ras
6 - Attack with both characters with Staff of the Rynn
7 - When Kangaxx becomes injured, summon Ras another time with the other character
8 - Attack with Ras
9 - Attack with both characters with Staff of the Rynn
10 - Just beat it to dead :D

You use Ras as a decoy then? Only +4 or over can hurt a demi-lich. Ras is +2.

That's it.
Ras is imune to imprisionment.
The problem is that it unsummons very quickly, so you have to summon two of them.

Why not just use invisibility

I always found that the easiest way to defeat the demi-lich was to just cast improved invisibility on the party when he appears and then bash him to death with the appropriate weapons. He doesn't have any other spells in his arsenal so cannot dispel invisibility.

Mordenkainen's Word is probably better than Ras. It is also independent of the caster and is +4 so can hurt the demi-lich. I doubt that the demi-lich can dispell it either.
Barring that any berserker/barbarian/minsc rages that make you immune to imprisonment.

I always used "Spell Immunity: Abjuration" to kill him. Again.

Morkainen's sword can be imprisoned can't it? Anyway isn't Ras supposed to be a lower level version of Morkainen's Sword anyway?

I've always had trouble trying to find that particular spell :( .

It probably would, but if Ras is only a decoy in this case, it's about as effective. Ras is an actual item while Mordenkainen's Swod is just a short-term spell, they're not connected.

Killed him today using only Keldorn... i used a undead protection scroll on him and it was really quite easy, he was wielding carsomyr.

We all know every little way of getting rid of that ugly boneface... or, the most commonly used ones like Protection from Magic, Spell Immun: Abjur, Raging, and so on. We're not that very interested in hearing about those ways again, so don't bother mentioning them. :P This was an interesting way that I havn't tried before, and that's pretty much all that's left for us in this game. :)

Nice going, but can Morden be imprisoned? I've used it as a decoy for vampires (when out of anti-level-drain) and such, but I don't think I've tested it against imprisonment. All I know is that's it very immune to pretty much everything.

I think it's immune to mind-affecting spells (thanks to a Greenstone Amulet in the hilt) but doesn't have immunity to Imprisonment. There aren't any saves to that spell either, so maybe Magic Resistance would save it.

Magic resistance and saves do didly squat against Imprisonment, it's why I like using it so often against Golems and Wolfweres.

Really? I knew there were no saves, but I thought MR affected EVERY offensive spell.

The most annoying time I had against Imprisonment was when an Elder Orb cast it against me in Hell. I was smugly holding Balduran's Shield (which is supposed to reflect anything a Beholder threw against it) and throwing an axe at them, and then suddenly the character disappeared :( . That was annoying  .

Yep, it surely is an awesome spell, and it's worth being lvl9. I sometimes feel like it is to be "taking a shortcut" :)

Too bad all the items go out the window. :(

That's why I don't like it. Too easy and and where do you get your +4 swords from? :D

Thanks for the Ras idea, I'll give that one a try with my solo archer!

There are of course many ways of defeating Kangaxx. This is just one more that can help, like me, soloing characters that canĀ“t cast spells. By the way, this is, I think, one of the main reasons that make this game so popular (or should I say addictive): the possibility of achieving the same goal using as many ways as one can think of.

Well, scroll of protection from magic works with every character in the game. That's one reason why it's so overpowered.
