Does someone here have a complete list of skill updates ?



That is:

1. The list of all tomes WITH THEIR MAXIMUM UPDATE VALUE. There is a list of all tomes on gamebanshee, but they only have location and required research value in them, and the later only if its in the description, as well as special conditions to get them.

2. The list of all quest rewards, with their maximum update value.



I have found something like this, but its probably not complete:


Brawl:
4: Book found in Mafia level in downtown hotel [5]
5: Nines in Last Round, first talk

Dodge:
2: Book on the floor of the library in Dr. Grout's Mansion. [??]
5: Book from desk inside the library of the Giovanni Stronghold during the Italian Dinner quest [8]


Firearms:
1+2: Book can be purchased from Trip's pawnshop in Santa Monica [BUY TWICE!!!] [3]
4 (5?): Romeo (Cemerity Guard in Hollywood)
5: Book is lying on the ground of the second floor in the Society of Leopold headquarters in Malibu [10]

Melee:
3: Book on the bedroom floor of apartment #2 in Downtown's Skyline Apartments. [??]
5: Nines after first Downtown main quest
5: Book in Fu house [REQUIRES: SECURITY 10] [9]

Security:
4: Book in the camera room of the Museum of Natural History in the Downtown [7]

Stealth:
2: Book in the apartment just across the hall from your haven in Santa Monica. [2]


Computer:
1+2: Book can be purchased from Trip's pawnshop in Santa Monica [BUY TWICE!!!] [2]
4 (5?): Betram during CD Quest [NOSFERATU ONLY]
5: Book on a desk in the Ground 0 Internet Cafe in the Hollywood district [9]

Finance:
4: book from Jezebel Locke's suite in Downtown's Empire Hotel [6]
5: Fat Larry for his quest [REQUIRES: Persuade 5]

Scholarship
2: Beckett in museum (ask him since when he studies vampires)
4: Beckett after LaCroix got the sarkophagus

Few corrections:

Romero: Firearms only up to 3.
Beckett: In the museum he can raise scholarship up to 3
Beckett: After the Giovanni excursion, Beckett will give you one of the following benefits (1) XP 1 for performing a successful persuasion check [8], (2) Investigation up to 3, (3) Scholarship up to 5, (4) If you're a Gangrel you can receive a bonus to one of your disciplines up to 3.
Bertram: You can receive a Stealth Bonus from him instead of Computers. By the way, the Unofficial Patch makes that quest available to everyone - for good or ill.

Otherwise, I think you got all of them. There's, of course, the Occult items as well. But that's a whole other can of worms.

If I'm not mistaken there's still a manual for Kendo "something" at the bedroom in the apartment where you get a clue on the whereabouts of Muddy. I think it's the apartment of the 2nd floor at the Skyline Apartments building, in Downtown. I's a manual that gets you through levels 3 and 4 of brawl.

No, "Kendu for Advanced Students" actually increases your melee skill. It is in apt 2 of Skylines. It will up your melee skill to the 3rd or 4th rank. So, that would be another correction to the list. The book works up to the 4th level, not 3rd. I'm not sure what research level is required. I want to say 6.

the nines brawl thing is only up to level 4 as i tried to get it while at level 4 and he said it would take too long to teach me how to fight better and he doesn't have the time. the nines melee one definately goes up to 5 though. oh and the security book in the museum only needs research 6 and i think the skylines apt. melee is research 5 but not entirely sure about that.

Skill upgrades from Beckett, Nines n Romeo

mr_sir and many others it seems.. You are not completly right about nines not training your brawl up after level 3-4 in brawl, that goes for other nice trainers as well ^_^

With zero-two points in brawl talking to nines just press "C" while he is teaching you... you get the skill point AFTER he finished talking... so you can just use XP to push your brawl up to level 4.. then back to nines with "C" and at end he upgrades your brawl to 5... works with all those nice people training you as long as you get the skill point AFTER they finished their little talk
