Hey, i'm wondering, is it true that the nameless one gets 1-10 hit points per level (in his highest level) or else gains 1 hit point per level (not including CON bonuses)?? Because right now he's a mage in my game, and it seems like the most HP he can get right now is 4 when i take his level up. It's really wierd, i thought it should be 10. It's not that big of a deal, but i'm just wondering why. I'm in the dead nations right now.

Up until level 10, you should get 1-10 a level as TNO. However, after that its a fixed amount. I think for fighters its 3 + con bonus, mages are just 1 + con bonus (I think). So, possibly, if you're over level 10 you're just receiving that.

It could also have something to do with your mage levels not being caught up to your fighter or theif levels, as well. Though, I honestly dont' remember how that works.

Yup, that's the max hp for a mage class NO, not taking into account the CON bonus:

Fighter 1-10 hp
Thief 1-6 hp
Mage 1-4 hp

But this only works if you level up in your highest class (added note - only from level 1-9 only). Otherwise, you'll get only 1 hp

As for the bonus hit point from CON bonus, it doesn't take into account your class. If I'm not mistaken:

CON Bonus hp/level
15 +1
16 +2
17 +3
18 +4
..etc

Yeah, but at levels 1-9, TNO gets 1d10 hp, regardless of class.

I'm sure it's according to highest class. The walkthrough by Nicholas Yu on gamefaq also mention the same thing...

Yeah, upon researching it a bit, I believe you're correct. My memory and reliance on the manual betrayed me. The manual contained an error, I suppose. So, according to the FAQ the correct formula is:

Fighter
Levels 1-9 = 1-10 HP per level
Levels 10+ = 3 HP per level

Mage
Levels 1-10 = 1-4 HP per level
Levels 11+ = 1 HP per level

Thief
Levels 1-10 = 1-6 HP per level
Levels 11+ = 2 HP per level

So, you're either just getting mage allowance for hp, or you're in "only receiving fixed amounts + con bonus" stage.

It's interesting that this hit point myth has been so frequently repeated. Dan Simpsons very fine walkthrough, which is significantly better than Yu's actually, has the Nameless One getting 1d10 regardless of class, as well.

Your point is spot on. I spent many times reloading because I too at first thought I can get 10 hp even as a mage

thanks guys, it will definitely save me a lot of time now knowing that i don't get 1-10 hit points per level as a mage
