Starting Where I Left Off Question

I just re-bought Morrowind for the xbox after selling it a couple of years ago. I was doing pretty good before I sold it and I saved my game thinking I might get to play again. Bought it for 3 bucks on eBay!

I currently at level 37 and have no interest in starting over, but I can't figure out where I left off. I went through my journal, kind of, but I'm still not sure where I'm at in the game. Can any one give me some advice on how to figure out where I'm at in the game?

Thanks!!!

Look at your world map, that will give you some indication of where you've been, and read your journal (very tedious if you don't have the GOTY edition)...
Also, I guess, take a look at your character's inventory, to see what you have, that might give you some clues. And if you sold to just one merchant, that might be worth checking too.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

Perhaps you could visit the major towns, asking around in guilds you belong too?

That's an idea. Maybe speaking to all of the guild quest givers and clicking on every conversation topic that comes up. They should say things like "Yes, you removed that cult very efficiently."

So, I'm following the advice and trying to read through the journal. It's not the easist thing to read through. Escpecially since I'm picking up after almost three years.

I'm also talking to folks in the different towns... I'm the Figters Guild Champion, if that's the correct title. It appears I've been working my way up in the Mage's Guild and the Thieves Guild won't have me. I guess I've also been working through the main story line, please excuse incorrect spelling of names, I've been told that I'm am the Neveraine, but other than that I still can't tell where to go next.

But from the lack of post I guess there's no real easy way to tell where I left off. Reading some of the other posts it sounds like if I ge tthe game of the year edition it make the journal easier to read. So, I might ry to pick that up on eBay.

Thank you for those of you who posted.
