Advancement point when die

I read somewhere that if you die and resurrect then you lose all the advancement point. Is that right, or the patch 1.3 fix that?
I ask, because when I die and press "C" I can spend my advancement points.

Forgive me for my limited vocabulary, I want to say "change".
All I want to know is if that's true. Everybody can spend advancement points when die?

How I've kept my advancement points.
I noticed the loss of advancement points early on.
The only solution that I have come up with is to save regularly, particularly after completing combat.
