Am i right to say that it is easier to kill irenicus then that Shadow Dragon?

I thought Firkraag is harder to kill than shadow dragon?

Well, even with a superbly modified character with powerful weapons but with the use of spells just head on one to one combat with the shadow dragon i have immense difficulty killing that reptile!!

There are a lot of posts on how to kill dragons...for me personally i like the following combo which works easily.
1. cleric casts "magic resistance" on the dragon "non aggressive level 5 cleric spell" lowers thier magic resistance from 90 to like 20"
2. cleric of druid cast "harm" "aggressive level 6 cleric/druid spell" if successful sets the health of target to 1.
3. mage casts one doze of magic missile.
4. dead dragon.

Have you killed Fierkraag yet? He is twice as difficult as shadow draggie. There are some interesting strategies on killing draggies in this forum, check them out, they should make your life easier.

I didnt think the shadow was very hard. He did go after Jan and Viconia only tho. So I had my PC Minsc Jaharia nad the stalker guy, cant remeber how to type his name, the planer sphere guy. Wasnt too hard.

Why do people say that the red was more difficult? I killed him after about 10 tries in Ch. 2 (my own strategies, no loss of life), when my chars were quite low level. Then again, I killed the Shadow in Ch.6 with just one try.

Both went down in ch. 3 BUT i had to reload many times to do Fiercraag and on the contrary I took down Shaddie in my first try (with the proper preparation, ofcourse)
Plus to that, in Firekraag I set the difficulty to "core" while with Shaddie I set it to "hard"

So, he MUST be way easier than Fierkraag, right?

It's possible, I was just wondering what makes Firkraag harder? I didn't think of upping the difficulty on the Shadow. I should have tried that (maybe next time). Thanks for the idea.

Firkraag has red dragons breath...but he's still easy...

Firkragg casts heal a lot. Also hos wing buffets seem more effective.

I did both in Chapter 3 but Shaddie early and Firkie late (i.e about 3-4 levels different in my characters) and I still found Firkie harder.

The shadow dragon is easier because of the wardstone.. you can surround it, put your ppl all round the room so it can only buffet 1 at a time, put your melee next to it, summon lodza things and put them next to it, then pause, press talk, then attack with everything and unpause, you have about 5 seconds free attacks and then it wakes up

Ssooooo ..... ?? You can surround Firkraag too.

I think I also kicked the shadow dragon's ass first time. If not, the second time. Firkraag took a lot longer, and I was a level higher too, I think. That dragon breath's a killer.

what im saying is that you get as long as you want against the shadow dragon... against fiirkrag he knows you are there... + unless you cloudkill that mage, your going to be fighting 2x anyway,

firkragg is easier to kill cos cone of cold is very effective

however irenicus is way easier to kill

the slayer was laughable easy
