POTENTIAL SPOILER -- Museum

I was just wondering if anyone has managed to do the museum quest without killing anyone, while playing a Brujah or Toreador.

The problem comes when you're hacking the computers to turn off cameras and alarms. There is no way you can do this without being spotted, especially the one to turn the laser alarms off. If you have a Discipline that incapacitates a victim for a few seconds, i.e. Dominate, Dementation or Animalism, you can do that and use the time to hack the computer. But if you don't, the guard will shoot you or beat you with a baton, and that interrupts your hacking.

Anyone succeeded with those two classes that have no targeted Disciplines?

you can grab the book but you can't shutdown the cameras unless you got the appropriate powers.

however it is possible not to kill any guard with the cameras -on-.
you should have any trouble until the last guard (with the lasers), it is tricky, but you may notice the alarm is sounded (the backup comes) only when the glass break - so if you crouch very close to the glass noone will hear his shots and it won't break the glass ;)

The thing to always keep in mind when doing the museum quest - it doesn't matter if you're spotted, maimed, or shot at. The only thing that matters is that you don't kill anyone. and you'll get the extra experience So, buff up, pack some extra blood packs, and be prepared to take damage without giving any back.

When breaking into the control console to turn off the alarms, you'll need to - basically - buff up (celerity, fortitude, or blood buff) and then break into the terminals. With the second terminal - at the very least - you'll get spotted. That's okay. Let them shoot at you (like I said, make sure your best defensive disciplines are on. If you get low on health, use a blood pack. It may take a few tries (as bullets will interrupt you), but its very doable.

Finally, I'd add, you can actually get past the beams without turning them off. It just takes a bit of luck. When you first enter the area with the beams, take a melee weapon to the black box on the side wall. That will disable some of the beams. You then have to be very skilled or very lucky, and you can navigate your way through the beams. Personally, I find turning off the beams easier, even for a character without a stun or obfuscate discipline.

I just run through the beams, then use trance or hysteria to make the guard drop the key. Its very quick that way!

To deactivate the cameras, I just let the guard in the camera room see me and then lured him halfway up the stairs. Then I ran back down and into the control room. I managed to turn them off after that :D

See... I never "deactivated" the cameras... I just shot them before they could see me... Maybe that's why I was always heard... usually I'd just take damage and dish none, or little, out... but once I massacred the place and LaCroix didn't say ANYthing, that was probably a bug though, so I wouldn't try that. But yeah, if you do get caught just don't kill anyone.

Runaway

I found that shooting cameras and then running and hiding helped - sometimes you can lure the guards well away from their patrol routes and get to the controls. the big problem is the end - it is very difficult to use the PC successfully - I managed to put the bite on the guard one time and also used presence with good effect another, but overall, it is VERY difficult not creating the final guard with the key.
