Understanding Magic?

Ok, trying to understand how the magic works in this game. Can anyone define for me what the blue bar does/gets longer? What is the controlling factor on how many times/charges a particular spell has? The book is woefully short on info. BTW, I just loaded up DL, applied patch 1.3 and the M for mapping does not seem to do anything? Was this option fixed. Thanks.

The blue bar is for the experience points to level up.
Spell charges = the number of spellbooks you have. You have to find/buy spellbooks.
Spells are regenerating by time.
Faster regeneration = more spellbooks + higher scribe/channel skill.
M key is for automap view/hide on the left side on the screen, it should be working with 1.3 patch

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure the auto map is working, I'll check again tonight.

automap feature is only if patch 1.3 is applied....
check your map folder if there are map pictures there...
