Maybe it won't have to come to that.I don't know what his/her problem was.I did consider e-mail you(Buck) but didn't want to bother you. Plus I knew as soon as Maurice saw what he had done he would have corrected it.
What exactly is a legitimite e-mail address?I have got 1 e-mail at Yahoo and the one I use here which is provided by my ISP.I would guess that my ISP is legitimate.

Um....I don't have a "regular" e-mail address. I only have free ones. Please don't ban free ones! I know not all believe in this, but I consider my integrity to be a precious thing, and I would never purposely spam. At least, I don't consider my harmless "character stories" to be spam. I hope others don't consider them spam either!

Definitely not spam Magusg. they might not always be on topic, but most of them r at least funny and not pointless like jarlaxe's 'random spam'. hopefully he will see the great evil that he did and weep from shame. As Minsc says "Feel the burning stare of my hampster and change your ways"

Buck; Do as thou see fit, but there are, seemingly, some who would be inadvertantly hurt by banning all free email addresses. I would hate to loose Magusg's input.....
Perhaps we could help by not responding to JArlaxle's posts...????
Interplay had some bulletin boards(forums) for BG I that got real out of hand with spam and other non-kewl posts. They eventually shut them all down. This was too bad but at least there have been others, this forum, that have filled the gap for BG II.
If I haven't expressed it before, thanks (and I do randomly wander amongst your other links, just to keep this 'alive'.....)

I use my Internet provider email (I think I do I can work with the danm thing anyway) but that will not be fair to the ones that dont have anything to do with the spam frenzy.
What he did can only be called "stupid",that did he think, that buck and the other would let him get way with that type of behaver. The goody tread have gone off topic a long time ago, but still It provide a sorce of ramdom Convertation, recently he had gone on topic again, it out again but still is funny to read the replys in there.
Posting SPAM, as a topic is just silly and this will be a example to anyone that is thinking of doing that in here.
Buck is on patrol and he is not alone in there, we ,the users, must prevent that from happening by letting know to the new menbers that goin off topic is a bit is acepted, But Spam like that is not.
JArlaxle is out of one of the best forums in the Net by his fault.

Drakron; Sorry, but I think that a free flowing discourse helps build a sense of 'community' among the responsible posters on any open forum.
It's up to the moderators, web masters and participants to police their own, so to speak.
I would hate to loose the ability to go 'off topic' at times when pursuing a philosophical discussion..... We are, for the most part, a very intellegent group here and the sparks of lively debate are few and far between.

Drakron; Sure, especially if it gets way off topic.... But read most of the threads here and you'll find that very few are totally 'on topic'!

Now I do have to agree with that.If someone tells you to go to another topic to (spam) discuss something that has nothing to do with the topic, I believe they should.

besides many people ask questions about stuff on the replys I always reply if I Known a aswer to a question even if It have nothing to do with the original.
Just look at the Good tread 4 last pages I am there.

For once

, I agree with Weasel. Going off topic, if it's not totally pointless, is fine in many cases. When someone gets tired of it, then they can politely make their feelings known, and the conversation can continue somewhere else where it does not annoy anyone.

Perhaps we should reserve a particular thread expressly for that purpose. But then again even the 'Goody' thread seems to fluctuate back to it's original 'intent' at times.
