I was tromping around in the Black Swamp and 6 tree thingys and an evil witch started knocking the stuffing out of me... so I got smart and summoned a "Death Lord" (red ninja looking guy... not that impressive) to help me out... and the bad guys left me alone for a minute (I was wrapped up in thorns and coughing, etc) when the ninja guy I summoned to help me joins them in kicking my butt! I thought there was a problem with the game, but after thinking about it, I am guessing the witch put a "possession" spell on my guy (just to add insult and injury to injury) and by the way, he was harder to kill than he looked!...

ps I tried casting the confusion spell and that did nothing...

are you sure it was your summoned deathlord, or did that one gone down while you were wrestling bushes..?
i had also random attacks of the red ninja squads in the swamp, so it could have been an normal ninja (red ones are thougher than black ones)?
but you are definitley right about the dissapointing feeling when first summoning a deathlord! i also waited for an big badass to step in for me, - and then this tiny fellow!
