Can an assassin poision sling shot? Am wondering, as am considering using a halfling assasin in my next game of BG and halflings get +1 in slings (and thrown weapons - darts would actually be good for an assasin too, as you could throw 3 poisoned darts in a round...)

Interesting, i never tried that with my assassin. but the ability is called poison weapin so i believe you could do that, but thieves are good with short bows too so keep that in mind

Yeah, I was just thinking that a sling (or darts) might be good for halfling assasin to get some proficiency in because of the racial +1 bonus

An elf assasin would be better off with a bow, I think (racial +1 bonus), though the 2 attacks/round of a sling and 3 attacks/round for darts is v.useful as far as poisoning goes...

I believe he should, if I'm not mistaken you can also poison Minute Meteors as well or even hold a weapon in off hand, throw poisoned Meteors and have the offhand weapon hit as a ranged weapon...
