Summoned Spirits - Help (TLC)

Alright, so I'm on my second time playing the game, and this time it's Evil... Useless tidbit.
Now, at the moment, my Summoned Spirit is a Minion Spellcaster. I love it, blocks nearly every hit, and has a medium range attack.
But I really want a Summoner. I've done this twice: Weakened a Summoner myself, and let my Minion finish it off. The Minion is not taking the Summoner's form though... I looked through the forums and the Walkthrough, no results. Can someone confim this for me?
