Ive read somewere that if you chose the first dialog option after edwind founds the nether scrol, he wont study the thing and I wont get the Edwina quest...*sigh*, and ive done just that, so that will explain why edwin hasn't mentioned the scroll, so, is there any way to force that quest? (clua, shadowkepeer?)

How long has it been since you've found the Nether Scroll (in game time, that is)? For me it took really long until anything actually happened, and when it did... Well, let's just say that IF you've accidentally cancelled the quest, you're not really missing out on that much... Edwins Quest is amusing but not really that interesting.

Any one disagree? :D

I agree it's really kind of a waste of time... As it is Edwin's quest you can expect it to be rather humorous and snarky, but kind of a waste of time oevrall... You aren't missing anything dude.

where can I find info on the quest?

I have the nether scroll and he does something silly when I answer a dialogue option a few days later.

any info on what happens next - as without spoiler - there is a purple character and nothing happens.

Does something silly? In what sense?

A few days after getting the nether scroll, he's supposed to give it a try. Some have found this buggy. I know you're using the official patch, but are you using any other fixes, like the one by the Gibberlings Three?

Spoiler

I was being coy so as to not need a spoiler alert - when Edwin had deciphered more of the Nether Scroll, he got some points then a little later in the Tanner's shop, he became Edwina - well, in fact he became a purple-based chararcter and unavailable to the party, yet still in the party.
I did a bit of loading and reloading and eventually found a way to get Edwin to talk - and he has rejoined the party as a female.
Anomen took the michael.

it was "bad"

so now I have a female Edwin in the group and from what I have found, she will eventually revert to male.

I have played BG2 many times, but done the quest and kept Edwin in for so few that this was an entirely new development.

If you find Edwin's change amusing, take your party to the Copper Coronet. There's a horrific lounge lizard near the innkeeper; have all your women, one by one, speak with him. But save before Edwina speaks to him.

when somebody turned up, I did not grass him up and pleaded ignorance - should I have told the enquirer that it was Eddy?

will somebody else turn up?

Just leave Edwin alone....

K... liked Edwin as a mage... he holds a full battery of spells that exceeds any other character in the game, but he's annoying... gotta say, I left him midstream.... I know it was a total drag... but I thought it was just rewards for one of the more annoying characters.... lol

I now know - I was in the middle of sorting out Firkraag and another Red Wiz came up. All tidied up now.
