Are you kidding me? I can't wear two ring of protection or a robe or amulet of protection at once! What's up with that?! As a Monk I'm pretty one-dimensional in what I wa-ant!!!! That ring of regeneration is a real life saver! I don't need to memorise any healing spells at all! Well, almost. Just passing it around is a great way to heal my party up fast. That cloak of invisibility isn't really working, now is it?!
Furthermore, my party currently exists of my Killer-Monk, Korgan (bad-ass M.F.), Keldorn ('I approve heartilly of the path we have taken so far' Shut the hell up, ya stupid [removed]!), Minsc (Butt-kicker of a life-time!), Jaheira (A blade in her innards would give her the proper BALANCE!) and Nalia (she IS practicly beneath me!). As you can see I'm really not to happy with my party, but I fear it's my final draw for this game (although I'm just starting Chapter 3). Next game I'll use an all evil party consisting of Me, probably Kensai/Mage... Korgan (oh ya!), Viconia (best cleric in the game I hear), Edwin (best mage?) and two others. Probably Jan and Valygar. Valygar is really cool with his katana's, like a samoerai! Is it true that his allignment is --- Good? If that's true I am going to switch Jaheira for him. If he's Neutral I'm waiting for my next game to use him. To many mellee fighters aren't good anyway. 4 is plenty, with 2 spellcasters/archers in the back. I hope Imoen is leveled up when I rescue her, because Nalia is pissing me of, but knows all my spells. Can't really kick her out anymore. Well, that's it for now I guess. Oh, and don't forget....

If you can't stand the heat... feel free to DIE!

1. The game is really watchful as far as your advantages are concerned. You cannot wear ring (amulet, robe) of protection with another ring (amulet, robe) of protection. Also, you cannot wear ring of protection with most of magic armor (armor +1 and better). You CAN wear together:
a) Ring of Protection + Red Dragon Scale Armor
b) Ring of Protection + Robe of Good Magi
c) Ring of Protection + Helm of Balduran
d) Ring of Protection + Helm of Defense
Anong others, you CANNOT wear together:
a) Ring of Protection + Shadow Dragon Scale Armor
b) Ring of Protection + Ankheg Armor
Therefore, let that heavy Ankheg Shell be. It is not worth of picking. Also, do not sell your (non magical) Full Plate too soon. Full Plate + Ring of Protection is BETTER than Full Plate +1.
2. Not happy with your party? Create your own 5 characters (the 6th one will be Imoen, Valygar, Cernd, etc.)
3. Imoen will be lvl11 mage when you regain her in Spellhold. Sorry...

You can't wear two magical protective items (= meaning items with 'plus' something in their description) in the same time and that's it. The 'magical' items are Ring of protection +x, Necklace of protection +x, Cloak of protection +x and the different kinds of magical +x armours. Keldorn's FullPlate & Shadow Dragon Scale are also considered 'plus' items though their descriptions don't say anything about it.

Then there are items that give you all the bonuses of those 'plus' items but aren't considered magical, like Ring of Gaxx, Ring of Earth Control, Red Dragon Scale etc.

You can always wear a helmet 'plus' something no matter what protective stuff your char is wearing.

... I don't know if that clears things up or just confuses you more

Buy your self a protection from magic scroll and kick Kangaxx ass. You wil recieve 1 (or 2) rings of gaxx. That ring is a better regenerater and has a lot of improvements 2
