I got the Paladin Stronghold, and I was on my 3rd quest, where you have to protect this girl. I protected her, and then a guy came and said he was the godfather. i gave her up and when i talked to that guy in the order he kicked me out of the ordr. how was i supposed to know that he was the assassin, without looking at a website.

has anyone else made this mistake?

Well, when you talk to the guy, he might sound a bit dodgy. So you should check him out first.

Cast Detect Evil and you'll see whether or not to trust him.

You should load an earlier save, because you don't want to fail your stronghold quests.

And you should put a large SPOILER at the top of something like this. You've been around a while; you should know that. I'm doing it this time.

whoops. it was late at night and i wasnt thinking straight.

when i did the mission i thought it was straightforward, just protect and give, but then i checked on gamebanshee and it said that it might or it might not be the godfather. i never knew that it could be an assassin...

It's just supposed to be a good test of a paladin's abilities. Who can honestly say they've made habitual use of Detect Evil?

Certainly easy to be caught out by that part of the stronghold though .

Its alright. I created a Cavalier and this time I'm not soloing. I have Minsc, Jaheira, Tashia(Mod), Nalia, and some paladin chick that is easy to romance(cant remember name).

This time i will make sure that he is the uncle

anybody know anything about a dragon in Umar Hills or how to beat it?

SPOILER** The shadow dragon Thaxlixxlya something, fairly tough, about the same strength as firkraag although different abilities ('cause hes a different dragon ). You collect sunstone bullets during the shadow temple save those for this fight. Other than that, buff up. **SPOILER

Thanks for the advice on killing that dragon but no, its another dragon in front of Umar Cave. I'm not sure but it might be a quest related to saerilith, my mod character. This thing is highly magic resistent and its purple!

Yeah, that Dragon is related to the Paladin NPC mod, IIRC.

your talking about the Saerlith mod. Hosted at Chosen of Mystra. That dragon is a pain in the ass.

Exactly. This Khalabaxxin or something. WAAAAAYYYYYY to many wing buffets.

Im not taking saerelith anymore, eventually she gets abducted by some devil and when it tries to load a required area for the quest it crashes the game

Go to COM and post your errors they are great at helping out. Also make sure you get the new version of Saerlith (v9). they release a new version on the 20th of every month.
