Does she ever learn to fight?Why does Malak defeat her for me Malak was limping terribly before Bastilla thu a lightsaber at him 1 hit with the lightsaber should have killed him (I hate cutscenes)

Um, did you get the really exciting black screen after the beautifully touching line, "Now shut up and kiss me you babbling fool" (or something to that effect)? If you did, that's all you get. Sorry.

Unfortunately, if you beat Malak there, then the story would be over and where's the fun in that? In short, regardless of what you do to Malak, the story must go on and so your character has to be in stasis and Bastila has to sacrifice herself to save you. Don't worry, next time you fight him you can actually beat him.

I got that and beat Malak without issue

I tried looking for a mod that would do that for you, but my brief search turned up nothing. I did find this page though:
