Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleaning---increased acuity

The use of magic causes the collection of magical residue around the caster, which prevents even the most skilled of casters from casting spells in quick succession.
Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleaning removes this residue as the next spell begins, allowing for a greatly increased rate of spellcasting.

Those of us who are mages by profession are enraptured with increased acuity, the true super spell in TOB. against timestop vulnerable enemies its known as "Kill me now!" spell for monsters. Ever wondered what that funky message "Aura cleansed" was talking about? Seems that when ever you cast a spell a metaphysical film builds up around the caster that makes rapid channeling of energies difficult, sorta like a partially clogged toilet. Acuity cleans your aura, and the effects last for quite some time afterwards. No you were not imagining things, after a heavy fight with lots of increased acuity casts, regulaar spells went off faster for a while.

This spell was found in shadowkeeper, and its not probably an equipable spell. but it might be used by the game.

anyway, this is why you get aura cleansed in the dialog box.

Hey User I don't even know what you're talking about in this thread ;) it's all good though

Anyway I wanted to tell you that you should get a cat and name it "Chiktika Fast Paws".

I have a cat named Rocky, but I always called him Rocky Raccoon after the song which was my favorite when I was 5 yrs old, now I call him "Fast Paws" :)

I've seen that one as well. Together with Daer'Ragh's Mental Agility (lowered Casting Time) and Daer'Ragh's Physical Agility (lowered Speed Factor). Kensai get the physical one naturally.

For the clueless: Daer'Ragh was some spectre from BG1. If you clicked on his gravestone one time too many, he would send a bunch of tough fighters your way that would explode when they died. I've killed loads upon loads of them, but never got anything to show for it.

Thanks for the info UserUnfriendly. I've always wondered what the aura cleansing was about (acuity + time stop + robe of vecna + amulet of power is a beautiful thing).

Musashi, I think that the spell increaseud acuity is a multiple spell effect that includes aura cleasning.

Jaker, just have a mage or sorc cast increased acuity and read the dialog boxes. at the end you'll get the message
"aura cleansed"

Then the nest few spells you toss out will be about 30% faster than normal until your aura gets cleaned agian.

so its a good idea, even not in combat, to cast increased acuity befoer you rest and let the spell run out....

In the same tradition of a gunfighter cleaning and oiling his holster once ina while to make sure the gun pops out fast and smooth

But if he won't use it soon and it'll get cloged why waste the time/stuff to do it?

Watching how Irenicus battles those Wizards at the Wakeen promenade, looks like he uses this aura cleaning indeed.

Of course. Nobody likes to sit and watch a cutscene in which Irenicus throws only one spell in six seconds.

Seriously, if that were a real battle between Irenicus and a Shadow Wizard squad, I'd doubt he'd make it. :D
