Slow response time

Just got the game and the mouse/arrow response time is very slow. It is not crisp and direct. You move the mouse and have to wait for the arrow to catch up. And even then, the arrow is only in the 'area' of where you want it. My system should not be the problem. Got plenty of ram and processor speed, and have direct x 9.0c. I also run other games without this sort of problem.
Any advice?
Thanks

I think I used to have that problem when I bought the game, scrolling incredibly slow, that kind of thing.
Patching the game should fix it. Patch 1 did it for me.

Tried that. I read on co8 where there is an order to doing the patches. Patch 1 first, patch 2 and then a third zip file. They said if you do patch 1 and 2 you do Not do patch 3.
However, after uninstalling and following this procedure, the game runs even slower.
Any suggestions on what actually does make it run properly?
Thanks

This game should not be played unpatched. I recommend as the most stable non-altered (much) version, patch 2 (which includes 1) and a fan-patch called temple.zip.
atari patch 2

Temple.zip
----------
http://www.jadri.com/temple.zip
-or-
http://www.co8.org/files/patch/temple.zip
1. Unzip the patch. (Double click the folder you downloaded and choose the extract all files option in the corner of the window (XP))
2. Find the file in you GAME'S directory called "temple.dll" and remove it. (Put it somewhere you can find it again.)
3. Take the "temple.dll" file from the unzipped patch folder and put it where the original file was.
4. Inside the patch folder should be a folder called "data". Inside that folder should be three new folders. Take all of them and put them into the game's "data" folder.
You will never completely remove slow-down in a few select places (e.g. the fire node and a little area just in front of Jaroo's house), but patches 1 and 2 help most people with their lag issues. There is also a mouse driver update trick that helps others. If the patches aren't helping you may want to go over to
http://www.co8.org and search for "mouse".

Mouse Scolling
I had the same experience when I first started myself. I reset the scroll speed somewhere in the options menu. You might have to look around in there, as I remember it was NOT real obvious or it had an odd name for adjusting mouse scrolling speed (at least to me). But it worked "better" after I did it. Still a little jerky but was significantly better.

Do you mean Scroll Acceleration? I think I refound that when I reinstalled the game recently and was patching it up, I was just glad I didn't have the original scrolling problems, the game was completely unplayable.

That Sounds Like It
I believe that might be what it was called. The word acceleration is what probably threw me. Haven't seen that word used for this feature.
