Golems in D'Arnise Keep

Tried to search for answer, but looks like the Searching -feature here doesn't work at the moment, so I wasn't able to find answer for my question.
So, anybody has good advices how I'm supposed to kill those golems guarding the items in D'Arnise (spelling?) keep? What kind of items/weapons I would need to kill them.
My current party is:
Me, Mage
Jaheira
Minsc
Korgan
Yoshimo
Aerie
So, any help would be nice

fire elementals and invisible servants and haste makes it rather academic... Merely attack one at a time, they turn red in pairs so don't be surprised... and save the iron golem for last, with any luck... your mage won't be able to do much though you could also cast lower resistance a several times on the iron golem than attempt to help finish him off.
Last time I did it with Jaheira, minsc and myself (druid) and even without haste the battle lasted only moments.

Another tip: The Iron Golem can't fit through the door. If you've got a ranged item that can damage them (everard's sling), just aggro

P) the Iron golem first and let it block the door so the others can't get through either.

Maybe you want to kill them, in which case ignore my post, but if you just want the items have Aerie cast santuary on herself and she can waltz in and pick up the items with no hassle from the golems.
Just make sure none of your other chars are with-in line of sight of the golems though as they will still turn hostile.

Ah, this hint will help VERY much, thanx
It's not big deal if I can't kill those golems, I just want to get the items
And thanx for everybody else also, good hints there

Slight spoilers highlight to read
I usually do the Keep fairly early so my advice is more for low-level parties that won't neceassily have access to higher level spells and items.
Firstly figure out which statue triggers the Iron golem and then leave that one til last. (the other golems should be faily easy with Korgan, Minsc and Jaheira - but keep Aerie well away from them - she tends to die if she gets so much as scratched, and Yoshimo will be pretty much useless (not much change really))
* Remember certain golems require blunt damage (You should have the flail of ages to at least +2, and acquired a +1 Mace from one of the irritating "your party has been ambushed" scenarios)
* Iron golems will take no damage from any weapon less than +3 (Luckily one of the items in the golem room is the final flail head, making it a +3 weapon and there is a +3 Axe for Korgan)
* Haste will counteract the golems Slow
* Zone of Sweet Air will deal with the Cloudkill effect
* Melf's Minute Meteors are one of the few spells that do some damage
I remember reading recently that not having Nalia in the party while completing her mission caused a few problems in the game not recognising that the mission had been completed. As I said I'm not sure as to whether Nalia's inclusion is significant as I always take her (through the keep at least.) It might be worth checking to see if anybody else has encountered this problem, perhaps on other boards. (I think I read about it in the Pocket Plane forums but for some reason they are proving impossible to access at the moment.)

Thanx for the tip, I also prefer to do the keep at the VERY beginning, maybe as the first or second big mission.
As for Nalia being in party, it's not big deal cause I will the throw someone out for that mission, maybe Korgan, do the quest, the kick Nalia out and get Korgan back

The way I normally do it is to kill off the golems before taking the items.
Attacking a Golem wakes that specific golem, but not the others. Thus you can make the fight a lot easier by taking them out one at the time.
After they are dead, I take the items.
Also - you can take the flail head withouth awakening any Golems, which means you can make the Flail of Ages before having to fight any Golems.

I would reccommend killing them, as golems tend to die relatively quickly... easy exp...
if your really in trouble/difficulty the girdle with a +3 to blunt, plus the potion of absorption +10 for
an extra +13 AC vs. Blunt... and amulet of poison protection...

For some reason in the unpatched game Cloudkill will kill golems. Also I suggest just simply ganging up on all the Golems one by one to kill them all easily.
Melf's Minute Meteors will do absolute wonders if you have it, it's definitely one of the best spells in the game.

You dont need Nalia in your party to complete the Keep quest. When you get done clearing out the basement go back to the waypoint and talk to Nalia again and you will complete the quest and if its your Stronghold, be asked to manage it and then be whisked back inside the keep

those golems are great for early BIG XP.I suggest.....
1.aerie sneaks in and grabs the hammer +4Giants in the same room and give it to your tank to brain golems with.
2.the ring of earth (found on main floor) will charm stone or clay golems use it on one and have him attack his homies.I killed all but the big one when I did it.

So are golems classed as giants then?

It is +4 vs giantkin I believe (bigger than humanoids). That weapon is put there specifically for the golems incase some people don't have good enough weapons to hit the iron golem.

If I remember correctly, I grabbed each of the goods, one at a time, because each one was the trigger to awakened its respective golem only (or pair of golems?). Just another way, especially if you need that magic warhammer to brain 'em, as previously mentioned.

Honestly though, golems are perhaps the easiest of all the enemies to defeat, even with a low level party, this one especially since they are blue... (and blue killing is as easy as it gets) It is all about speed, haste works wonders and if you kill it fast enough you can do it before the slow is activated. If you having difficulty, just bunch around the flesh golem and its buddy, dispatch them, than attack the other one, rinse and repeat, save the iron golem last and if you need to rest do so... The iron ones do poision but if you can kill it quickly and use summons to help out than you shouldn't have any issues...
Frankly, this is perhaps the easiest big early exp in the game...

For some perhaps, but when done early it is still a (huge) risk. The Stone Golems can quickly make mincemeat of of most opponents early in the game, and are in my view more dangerous then the Iron Golem which only is difficult to damage, but is more manageble.
The Stone Golem slow spell is nasty, and I've often had one or two die in thoese battles.

True, if you attempt the keep early it would probably be wise to purchase a few potions of absorbtion, as you not have to worry so much about getting hit

Another Method
Some good tactics have already been mentioned.
By the time I get to D'Arnise keep I usually have a couple of +2 weapons so taking care of the Stone, Clay, and Flesh Golems isn't too hard. I tend to use the block the door tactic with 2 characters on the top step. I use Minsc and Anomen, Each has a +2 or +3 weapon. Only one of the two golems that activate can attack you at a time that way. I had Jaheira right behind them to cast healing as needed.
Since the Iron Golem requires +3 weapons and they aren't too abundant at this stage, it is the toughest challenge. One +3 weapon that is fairly easy to get is Lilacor the +3 two handed sword you get by doing the quest in the sewer under the Copper Coronet. The +3 flail you assemble in D'Arnise Keep is another. By the way you can take the 3rd flail head from the one statue without tripping the golems as as long as you DON'T take the other item (hammer I think) that is in there. Put the Flail together at the forge and you have at least one +3 weapon even if you don't do the Lilacor quest.
I accidently discovered a little trick (some may call it cheesy but I think it is just using the golem's size against itself) which allowed Minsc to singlehanded take out the iron golem and take no damage at all. He had Lilacor and waited for the iron golem at the door. He hit him and then dropped back a couple of steps. (my plan was to hit the golem, drop back to avoid the cloud, then step back up and hit it again, repeat etc.) The golem couldn't fit through as has been mentioned before. However when I went to have Minsc attack the golem again, he did so from the 2nd step up from the floor. It turns out that with the extra reach of the the two handed sword Minsc could hit the golem in the doorway. The golem could not hit him. When it couldn't hit Minsc, it resorted to only putting out the poison clouds. The clouds only came down to the step right above Minsc, they never reached him. Minsc just kept whacking away and finally it went down.

There's a rumour that the range of a character is determined by the circles under their feet, if two circles are able to touch each other then they are able to hit each other.
