Best Weapons

While playing through the game I noticed some exceptional weapons that really help gameplay out a load. what are your favorite 5 weapons?

1.The Answerer +4. Straight out amazing sword. The 15% MR drain is so useful during the game, especially against draconis and other bretheren. Plus its THACO bonuses and the AC drain will tear enemies apart.

2.Carsomyr +6. Definatley one of the best weapons in the game, no doubt about it. The path to get it is difficult but worth it. It has auto dispel, high MR, extra damage to chaotic evil opponents(like Melissan) and it gives you the ability to dispel magic, but of course Keldorn didn't need that feature. It is definatley one of the best weapons in the game.(I like taking it on backstabbing trips with my Assassin[with UAI] and chopping up Mind Flayers.

3.Gram the Sword of Grief(Enhanced). The 5% MR is good along with the high chance of poison damage and the extremely high chance of level loss it is an amazing weapon. I gave it to Minsc to use while Keldorn was using Carsomyr +6 and those 2 were taking out Mellisan with a little help from Aerie and Imoen while I was taking out the Slayer Shadows.

4.Angurvadal +5. Definatley a top weapon. The strength bonus is amazing, along with the Immuinty to level drain with the fire damage and THACO bonuses this will definatley wack enemies.

5.Silver Sword. No, it doesn't have very high THACO bonuses, and no, it doesnt have a big selection of devastating abilities. It only has one, the Auto kill. The % is 25 so chances are that 1/4 kills will die instantly unless they make the save.

Whats your favorite with the description?

Honorable mention: The three best offhand weapons:
1)The Equalizer (The defenses are awesome, and the bonuses apply to the main hand as well)
2)Crom Faeyr (A 25 STR is great when attached to a decent weapon)
3)Belm (only before Whirlwind Attacks)

It's in Watcher's Keep (ToB).

I'm adding Dragon's Breath +4 to the list.

It does a lot of damage and all the bonuses are good for attack versus spellcasters.

I guess it was a bug in my game, In Firkraags dungeon the wizard Conster didnt give me the key to open the girls cage when I killed him, the Fire Giant didnt give me the Helmet or the Axe. I guess it was just a bug

I'm rather partial to the Flail of Ages, whose elemental damage is good for disrupting protected spellcasters.

Where do you get the Answerer? I can't recall.

Yaga-Shura is his name...

I've only ever completed ToB with a Pally, UH. SoA I've done with a monk, too... anyway, the monk obviously used his fists, and the pally wielded Carosmyr, Flail of the Ages, and Silver Sword to devastating effect ^^

there you go.

Yes, you get the Answerer, my favorite weapon, from Jamis Tombelthen when you enter the Oasis. He and some mages, a fighter and a cleric to attack you. Dispatch them and loot the corpses.

Let me try to fix the Flail of Ages problem...

Hope it worked.

2 things to consider:

1-angervader: maybe a better choice for multiclasses because your pc fighter type will have 22-24 STR by that time anyway.

2-carsomyr: unless you dont use keldorn, OR your paladin is not an inquisitioner it is great. But why not just use dispel ability at twice level?

True, or you could use it on a bard or a thief, or a monk etc.

Again, true, but it is still a powerful weapon, and if you give it to a thief with UAI to backstab wih, you will see a change in damage, unless you are dual wielding swords.

Well in ToB, for me by far the most useful weapon was Blackrazor, 15% chance to drain 4 levels heal 20 hit points and haste with a 3 points increase in strength, not to mention immunity to fear and charm... i dual wielded Blackie with the answerer in the other hand through ToB.

Sure it's only +3 thac0 but meh if it hits, it hits hard!

2nd is the Ravager +6; I gave it to Sarevok who kinda kept decapitating everything. (i think the decap penetrates through stoneskin not sure though)

3rd in usefulness for me would be the Foebane.

4th,ahhhh the crom faeyr, 25 str? well ok i will reluctantly agree to carry it with me... :p

5th, staff of the ram +6, i love this one.

In soa only, the strongest weapon i can think of would be the dragon's breath.

My favourite weapon?
Melf's Minute Meteors

It's not the best by far, it's not the strongest, but what I use it for, it is by far my favourite.

thats true, but its kinda a spell, if you could unequip them and let other party members use them then they would be weapons, allthough they are VERY fast and VERY accurate.
