I once used an all-girl, majority spellcasters party consisting of:

PC-Sorc
Jahaira
Aerie
Imoen (post Underdark)
Mazzy (my only non magic user)
Viccy

That was quite a lot of fun actually

All Magic, All the Time

Jan

Edwin

I suppose there's also the "Tree-hugger" party

PC as either a ranger, druid or ranger/cleric

Another idea, "The Chaos Party" (might need the happy patch with this one)

PC - some version of chaotic (maybe a CE cleric of Talos?)

Mage hater party (say, the player had trouble with mages in the past, he hates them just like... like... well, as if he was a cowled wizard without a bribe).

I suspect the Chaos Party I suggested above could be quite entertaining. Throw Edwin into that mix and you'd be all set (Though, you would definitely need the Happy Patch)

It's quite spooky your honour bound party is almost the exact same party I planned to take on my next run through. Substituting the Paladin Pc for LG Elven Stalker (I just can't bring myself to play a paladin)

The short party:

Korgan, Mazzy, Jan, PC gnome or halfling cleric

The Neutral Zone Party

*Jahaira - true neutral
*Cernd - true neutral
*HD - Chaotic neutral
*Jan - chaotic neutral
*Viccy - neutral evil (I think)
* PC - Some kind of neutrally-aligned fighter
