I think Daggerfall requires an old computer with a 486 motherboard. Is there an updated version that can be played on a pentium? If not, how do I get an old computer that is appropriate for Daggerfall. Despite all the bugs in this game it is one of my favorites of all time. If I could only play it again! My old computer was scrapped years ago.

Daggerfall can run on a modern CPU, but it has problems with XP. Some people can get it to run, using DOSbox, but others simply can't. For what it's worth, I suggest downloading DOSbox,
here. I've used it successfully on Darklands (with music!), and the older PC-based KOEI strategy titles. Note that if you do get it to run, be sure to read the accompanying docs for DOSbox. One of the keys (F11? F12? F8?) let's you speed up the game.

While its not really an I've played the entire game, it has been running with no problems for me under dosbox, with sound efects and all. So, with Dos box you should really expect no problems with this specific game, except perhaps, as fable mentioned, speed tweaks.

I do run into some problems with the sound on Dos box.
