My search-function doesn't seem to be working, so I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed before:

I just started a new game with a skald, and I'm just wondering: What are the good armor-options for a skald ("good" as in armors wich allow you to cast spells while wearing)? Are they just the Jesters Chain, Melodic Chain and the Bladesinger Chainmail?

Well, there is the elven chain you can get in trademeet by killing one of the families. Other then the previously mentioned chains there is also the armor in ToB, the aslyferund chain +5 forged for you by cespenar the imp.

EDIT: I see your edit to include the melodic chain so I'll remove it from my list
EDIT#2: Also the Elven chain +1 from Aran Linvail if you side with Bodhi.

Jester's Chain is rather ironically named since one cannot cast arcane spells with it on.

Um, last I recall you can. I believe I used it on Haer'Dalis and he could cast spells in it. But then again I can be mistaken.

Thats the Bladesinger Chain from the Black Dragon mixed with a scroll of Protection from Normal weapons, right?

The best one you can get early is the Melodic Chain.

there's always drow admantium chain +3.
same AC as melody chain but with 5% magic resis. and -1 casting time.

thats good but its also late in the game, its pretty inconvienient.

Aye, that is correct. Forged by cespenar the imp I believe.
