is there a way to export chars for multi-player ?

it seems like such a shame to have to remake chars everytime you want to play the game online with a friend.
if there is, does anyone got step by step directions on how to do it ?....
i see all these peoples chars lvl 35+ and i wondered since you cant play with a char you beat the game with unless you save before you win, but whats the point of that if you cant go online and do like a PvP battle with your most powerful char *shrug*
