Any word about v1.4 lately?

I read somewhere something about a release for germany? I am not in germany so that doesn't help me out :) but that does mean they are moving forward on this patch, yes

Has anyone got a COMPLETE list of fixes that will be on the patch? Or has that been posted arleady and I missed it...

I have yet to complete the game, but I am having a good time with it. I did have to CHEAT and read the walkthru on that Shadow mage guy that just teleports to another area in the STAR room when he took alot of damage, then his health was full again when he reappeared.

There is no complete list of fixes but we do have confirmation from the US. Here is the quote from Jeremy dream catcher moderator on 10/28
"I can confirm most of, if not all the fixes listed are in testing at this time.

There was actually quite a concentration on fixing Multi Player issues, I am under the impression that people will enjoy this experience alot more.

There are quite a few new spells in the new patch, all heraldrys and skills should be functional.

So hopefully over the next couple of weeks we can get this out if not sooner, we are still in testing at this time, however we have verified most of the fixes so far.

Here is the list he refers to
Singleplayer:

Players using ninjutsu can change with "Q" between fists and ranged weapons

You only can leave the shadow ruins AFTER getting the staff of holyness

If accessing the character-menus or other sub-menus, no more monsters spawn

In camp-modus, every hour will be checked if monsters spawn

The speed for removing traps on boxes is now different. Now theres not only the trap skill important, but also the level of the trap.

You can change with "F" between magic and melee mode

It´s not possible anymore to assign XP after death

After reviving, theres a message that tells you, which attribute has been decreased

In the options, you can activate a target marker (known from FPS). It shows you the actual sighted target

There are added many new spells, with the main focus on multiplayer

All heraldic signs are now included and work

All skills are now included and work, like they were announced. Players with the skill "critical hit" are now

informed by message, if they made a critcal strike.

If a player is falling down from an island in the shadow region, he dies and will be revived at the entrance

Now you can create your charakter individually with different hair styles and skin colours. Also you can choose

between left- and right-handed characters

Special Weapons must be powered up at altars

Now the thief character has "identify" in his skill list

New sound effects for all races in the case of wounding or death (over 30 new SFX)

New sound effects for nearly all non-human monsters (over 200 new SFX)


Multiplayer:

The game now checks language and game version before you can join a Multiplayer-Game.

At loading a terrain zone, all players are fixed at theyre location, until all other gamers are arrived in the zone

If a player leaves the game, all important items will transfered to the game leader automaticly

Thanks for the info...

I've completed DL more than 5 times, I must say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. With the patch...it's going to be like a new game, 2 for the price of 1, not bad.

Thanks to all for their hard work and effort to insure a good game is going to be a better one.

Well I don't feel this one that good. If monsters around stop you to camp that's ok as this disable an easy cheating, but add spawning during camping isn't cool. Camping was already very rarely usefull and mainly in order to wait daylight, now it will become mostly useless.

<<It´s not possible anymore to assign XP after death>> Arg this one is just bad. This possibility saved me more than once of the lack of any auto save during the game. With 1.4 this won't be possible any more and with so few save slots it makes this even worse.

<<Special Weapons must be powered up at altars>> This will give some sense to all those useless altars but for new players that don't like check walkthrough this will be quite frustrating if they are required for weapons for which you have no hint on where are their altars. Additionaly I hope this wont require regular power up.

<<Now the thief character has "identify" in his skill list>> Cool but what usage? Is this mean that all other classes won't be able to identify and use any new items? Shops have an identify option but when you are in dungeons there are no shops.

Patch 1.4 has been released in germany so hopefully we will have it very soon. D

At http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang...4ger.zip&ref=ps you can now download both versions of patch 1.4 (german version). One version ist for updating from V1.2e (german sales version - 63MB), the second is for updating from V1.3 (51MB).

So let´s hope, that the US-Version will arrive in the next hours too...

My German is kinda bad...

I downloaded the patch 1.4 and since I have a English version, I just read the readme File in the patch... My German to English is not that great so....From what I gather this is what is says.... I can only hope that they did not list all of the fixes here....:speech:

The shade ruins can be left only if the staff of the Goettlichkeit were found. If into the character menu or one of the other submenus one goes, no further aggressors appear. With storing each hour is examined whether monsters attack the player.
The traps at crates are different in your speed with defusing. It is now not only the Skill "traps defuses" auschlaggebend for defusing, but also the level of the trap.
With "F" can be shifted between magic and combat mode and. Now no more points of experience may be assigned in accordance with death. When reviving a message indicates, which attribute was reduced.
Goal marker: In the option menu goal marker can be activated. These indicate the straight anvisierte goal. New sayings were added, with emphasis Multiplayer. All coats of arms are inserted now and function.
All Skills is now present and functions in such a way, as announced. Players with "critical impact" get a message indicated, should you a critical hit land. If a player in the shade realm of one of the islands falls, he dies and with the entrance hall is revived.
The characters can be personalisieren now, in addition different Firsuren and skin colors are available. The player can select now between one right or a left-handed character.
Certain ones magic weapons must be loaded now at old arene.
The thief has now an IDENTIFYING available as Klassenskill.
Mutliplayer
The play examines only language and play version, before in Multiplayerspielen can be participated. While the loading of a zone the players are fixed so for a long time at their Spawnpunkt, until all players loaded the zone.
If a player should leave the play, then all play-relevant articles are transferred automatically to the leader.

I haven't heard about the english language 1.4 patch. Anybody know how the german patch is working? Are there issues with it? Comments? Anyone?

1.2 patch ?

I have the 1.1 and 1.3 patch . We know 1.4 is coming.

I've heard of 1.2 but haven't been able to find it.

Anyone know anything about it ?

Patch 1.2 is included in patch 1.3.

Not much word about German patch 1.4 beyond what’s listed in the post above. There is now treasure in Davenmore castle. There are more celestial spells but I haven't seen a list. No word from HP/DC about when patch will be out in the US :mad: D

Hey guys - The 1.4 update will be available to everyone. Don't worry. It's still being worked on here - testing, etc. Production informs me that it shouldn't be much longer, but we've run into some technical difficulties with it. Hopefully, I'll have some better news very soon. It's coming along... it's just not ready yet.

This is ridiculous. Instead of re-releasing a half-finished product they should be devoting all their time to patches and fixing the version they already prematurely released. Yeah, of course their product manager would say customers will be impressed with all the added content from the game's release. That's like looking at a house's framing and then seeing it all put together. They f-ed up and now they're trying to make more money with this CE edition.

Yeah, great consumer relations guys. Any and all extra content in the CE edition should be part of the patch for current owners. I spent likely the same amount of money for what I thought was a complete game, but instead it was bugged to all hell and half the aspects didn't work. If you'll recall, there wasn't even a working automap in the initial release. Its taken them a year to get heraldry working.

That being said, while I think the company is doing a piss-poor marketing, consumer relations job, I have enjoyed the game in most of its aspects. This is also in part why I'm frustrated by them taking their time patching it. I would like to see a complete game, as soon as possible, without having to pay more for it. It really is disappointing.

I agree with you. the new patch will not be available to download until the CD edition is on the store shelves. If the German edition is out and working,there is no reason the English edition should not be out.If Heroe's of Might &Magic comes out on time I'll be spending my time on that,and will think long and hard before buying another game from this company.
