Im slowly making my way through the temple, and am almost ready to goto lev 4 of the dungeon. I was just wondering if there is any way to rest up your charactrers while in the temple, or be able to rest to get spells back. Everytime i try and rest, i get an encounter, and no spells get rememorized or HPs healed. Do I have to exit the temple and goto an inn every time??? UGH.

I was running into this too.
What I found is that immediately after a fight, I click the rest icon and try to rest for the 8 hours. I'd say about 7 or 8 times out of 10, I can rest successfully.
They key seems to be resting as soon as you come out of combat mode - maybe the game is still cycling through the last combat, and let's you rest.

Minor spoilers, highlight to read:
There aren't many places in the temple that is totally safe for resting (except for the main entrance level, where all those locked chests with temple robes inside are, the big spiral staircase in the center of levels 1 and 2, and the secret entrance to level 3 from the burnt farmhouse). However, there are some places that are better than others. I've found that going into a little room and shutting the door sometimes helps immensely.
Beyond that, I just use the teleport spell whenever I want to leave and get a good rest and sell my loot. (If you're not high enough level, you can spawn a scroll with the console. You can also use the console to teleport around directly, but I've never bothered figuring out all the coordinates and such.) The downside with teleport is you have to walk back in.
Don't forget about the secret entrance to level 3. That'll save a lot of time.
