don't know exactly how alignment changes in baldurs gate 2 but have you killed innocent people or anything? mind you that changes reputation, so don't know if it does the same with alignment. i always have a really high reputation and play a good character in it so i don't know what effect very low reputation may have on alignment.

You must have chosen one of the evil paths in the trials of Hell. Did you fight Wraith Sarevok, or fight the dragon, or take Blackrazor from the genie, or use the Nymph Cloak, or sacrifice a party member or a peasant to avoid a personal sacrifice?

Exactly, you failed one of the hell tests.

One slight correction to this: no matter what, Wraith Sarevok will end up fighting you. The trick to doing the test the "good" way is to use the Luke-style answers (I'm not angry, I don't want to fight you) and have him initiate battle with you.

It's simple - when you load up Shadow Keeper, there should, on one of the first pages, be an alignment section where you choose the alignment - nothing about global effects (at least I don't think so).
