Could this char work?

I was thinking of a character that would use Combat:One-hand Melee and Thought: Electric for offense, and use Cobat: Evasion as defense. I'm not sure wich perks and stuff like that to use, and i'm not sure about race either. I was thinking of the char more lika a roleplaying thing than an powergaming thingy, he's the extremely fast samurai type, dodging every blow, striking hard with his sword and he's able to strike so fast that lightening appears. He is a roleplaying character but I want to know if this kind of char could finish the game? Or will this **** just not work, and he'll suck? Help please...

I SO agree with your sig about reading the manuals! Many people just don't bother. Though the Manual for Lionheart is full of errors.
At least, my copy is. Maybe it was corrected later.
Anyway - to your question. Ravager will know much more than me, but I have tried several chars with One-Hand Melee and Thought:Electrical. I was not completely comfortable with them - but I did not use Evasion with those Tags, which might have improved the characters.
It's nice to think of your char as role-playing, but I don't think the game really lends itself well to that. Based on D&D, yes (like most of these games), but with little leeway for imagination.
But it is worth giving it a go, imo.
You will learn a lot from it. I have learnt a great deal from my aborted games.

Hmm, seems like an intersting character.
In my experience Evasion provides a bonus to your Armour rating and a percentage chance for an enemy to miss. I think I've managed to get it up to around 10% before and not really bothered with it after that.
If you want your character to be fast, I think Agility helps with that (as would reducing the time for each strike of a weapon (though that would decrease damage too).
I haven't had that much experience with the Thought Magic in the game, so I'm not exactly sure how that would work, just bear in mind there are enemies who are resistant/immune to it (so make sure other skills like your One-handed Melee are well backed up).
Personally I often go for Melee characters backed up with some divine magic (and sometimes Necromancy) and I can definitely say that you should continue putting points into a Melee skill the whole time. In one area you can easily be hitting monsters and in the next, not able to hit them 90% of the time. Unfortunately, it's not obvious to see when this will happen.
Otherwise I would say that character could work (I just wouldn't tag Evasion even if I was going to put points into it).

Well, thats what Thought: Electric is for, if i can't hit the enemies with my sword because od their high AC, i'll just bolt them to death with lightning. And i they're resistant to lightning, i'll just slash em to pieces, so he's kind of a fighter/mage samurai type. But I was wondering mostly about wich Perks and Traits i should use. And also how to spend my ability points. I have alrady realized that agility will and MUST me my major ability, after that maybe Perception, since it increases Evasion and it gives a bonus to mana wich means more magic. I could put points into Charisma, to smooth up the dialogs and to get more mana, but that wont really help out with my melee combat, and this charactér is more the "Sword for Words" type, he's not the talkative type. And finally, WICH RACE? I have no clue, maybe Demokin (they are the coolest).
No wait, this is the final question : Are there any Katanas in the game (or any asian swords for that matter)? And if there are, are these sword any good?
Thanx

You have pinpointed good Abilities.
Agility affects a lot of things - there are 7 skills that depend to a greater or lesser extent on Agility; the next most often used is Perception, (5 skills);
But don't forget Intelligence. It's at the bottom of the list for use in skills (only 1, Diplomacy) BUT!!! - The number of skill points you get to spend each level is dependant on Intellect!
You get a basic 10 skill points, plus Intelligence, so if your Intelligence is 5 you get 15 skill points - and if it's 10, you get 20. However, you will get opportunities to get extra Intellect points during the game, so INT of 7 or 8 is what I go for, personally. I usually go for Magic-based characters.
Perks are very dependant on what you want from your character. Ravager has much more experience than I do - I depend on him a lot! - but some basic, good Perks for your char might be:
Damage Resistance (Requires 6 END, 6 LUCK, Lvl 5)
Educated (6 INT, lvl 5) (you get 2 more skill points per level with this)
Dodger (6 AGI, lvl 5) (helps with Evasion
)
Lightening Rod (Thought:Electrical at 40)
Power from Beyond (5 INT, lvl 5, Demokin & Sylvant only) (You get extra healing rate and 1 extra skill point per level)
Retribution (lvl 8) you do +10% extra Crushing and slashing damage.
Which Race? Um. Depends what you want, really. Highest magic are Sylvants, next are Demokin, last is Feralkin. Pureblood Human is 'average'. Having said that, you can make any character either mainly physical or mainly magical, depending where you spend your attribute points or place your Tag skills.
Your main concern is what Racial Traits you feel happiest with! I like Demokin with Forked Tongue Trait. Or Sylvant with either Polyelemental or Wind Ancestry. Read what the benefits and disadvantages are VERY carefully before you choose.
I have never found a Katana, dai-katana, or any other oriental weapon in the game.

That's a good selection of perks that Fljotsdale pointed out.
Swift Learner increases the amount of XP gained (which is worthwhile taking)
If Lightning Rod does what I think it does (just a bonus to Thought-Elec.) then it may be worth leaving it until late in the game to take when putting points into skills is more expensive.
Evasion seems to go well with Unarmed too, but I've never tried that. I think perks couple those together a bit though.
Your race choice does affect dialog in the game, some merchants may not offer special stocks or characters may be more hostile. If you play Human or Demokin (with a trait that doesn't identify you as demonic) then you should get the best reaction. The game is still easily playable choosing a class which is obviously not Human though (currently I'm playing a Sylvant character).
There aren't any oriental weapons. Scimitars are probably the furthest East you'll get under that reference, although there is a Chinese merchant selling gunpowder kegs.
As for traits, generally I pick something like Good-Natured. I don't always take as many as possible though because of the disadvantages.

well personally i would suggest skip the role playing chara in the game, either be total mage or a total fighter/sniper, whatever, u must focus on the sense that if ur a mage stick to longrange and play defensive, and if u'r gonna whack and whack with a weapon be aggresive, personaly i found that thought speels are useless if ur gonna be melee a close range fighter should get a divine fortitude ot a thought protective, u'r gonna need healing bad, and the spell resistance give fro level 2 fortitude is very nice (i've fought druids and lighting war golem withoout a scrath with my unarmed chara in the crypt), a feralkin is the best in terms of a knight IMHO, with the brutish hulk perk u can get up to 450 hp, and with the right faction selection and trait, ban a crazy rampaging dude, tat can only be killed ny 3 revenents if they attack at the same time ( u can still take 2 at the same time, believe me i did it), but i must say is not nearly as cool cause to use the revealing weapon u have to equip and un equip ever so often, but still, btw perception and luck is amust for fighter, why crits of course, i've done damage as far as 90 with my unarmed fighter, the only downside is u should always get boots of speed caause u need to get cloase ASAP, but once u can zam. BTW ever try an unarmed dude with slaye, it's beautiful (the only thing that resist crushing is soldier, everything else takes 100% damage).

I dont really use potions that much, i have my heal and a pretty solid defense + great movespeed should i need to run away. And Ranged combat is too good, if you thought that Unarmed was good, you havn't seen anything yet.
+Bows strike fast as hell, I mean like "shortsword fast"
+There are extremely great perks for a sniper type, increasing damage and speed to godlike levels.
+Bows deal very much damage with a high chanse of crit
+The deal damage at range, "hit and run" has never been better
+Many different types of arrows allows you to easily get past resistances
+ They almost NEVER MISS
