i can not defeat the ice trolls any ideas

I'm not absolutely sure about this, but I think ice trolls require the use of blunt weapons. Are you using only slashing weapons? It must be the case that you need to use a different type of weapon. Once a troll goes down, you need to finish him off with fire or acid. It makes weapons that have fire or acid damage valuable in these games.

You are correct Sparrow, Ice Trolls have damage reduction to piercing and slashing weapons and are immune to cold based damaged.

Ideally you want to be using bludgeoning weapons that deal additional fire damage and concentrate on fire based magics. (fire over acid as it does more damage to them)

Also when buffing your party making them resistant to cold damage is a good idea.

Remember that once the trolls collapse on the ground they are not dead until they have taken additional fire or acid damage.
