I have absolutely no idea how to disarm/open up these treasure chests...

If somebody could clarify
a) what you do after you click "disarm"
b) what you do when you "disarm"... you get two different symbols/stones, while the flame travels from left to right, and then explodes onto you.
I need to figure this out so I can complete my quest!

Click on the icons below the bar as the 'flame' lights the corresponding icons on the bar. If you can't see the icons increase 'inspect' if the 'flame' moves too fast increase 'disarm trap' or use a lock pick. D
