Im haveing trouble figureing out how to turn enablecheat=1 on. where do you go and how do you turn it on. please give any help or advice

Do you play it on Xbox? if so there is no way to cheat/mod/patch your game.

Really? I thought that you are able to enable cheats in that game as all the others.

Found that after doing a quick search of this forum for cheat. A lot of other threads, too, and some of them are extremely useful. Although I myself don't cheat (I don't like fiddling with games, it makes me worry ) I am sure you can find something using the links above.

Here's a straight answer for ya'

Locate the swkotor.ini file found in the games main folder "C:\PROGRAM FILES\LUCASARTS\SWKOTOR2".

Open this file with notepad and locate the [Game Options] section.
Now at the bottom of that section add this line:

EnableCheats=1

Next, save the file, not "save as", just plain 'ol save. Then your done. start the game, load a save and hit "~" (without the quotes) and type in your code and press enter.

Help With Cheat access

Can someone tell me step by step how to get the cheat mode to work . I cant find the gameoptions to edit and add enablecheat=1 to begine with if someone could tell me exactly were to go what files and what to do that would be great thanks

The best way to cheat in this game is to use this(KSE) SaveGame Editor Now go to Step 1.

Step 1: If you have a save game already, go to step 2.

Step 1.1: Start a game, save-it right away & exit the game, go to step 2.

Step 2: Go in your save game editor, chose a save, chose what you want to Change / Add / Remove, Change it, Click apply, then click commit change. Go to step 3.

Step 3: Start a Game, choose the save that you've just edited in the Save Game Editor, so you'll play with the changes that you just did.

Or you can edit your ini file, here's 2 hints on how to enable the cheats & all what that implies.

1st you have to Enable the Cheat function, here’s 2 hints on how to do-it :

Hint 1:

In your game Directory (the path by default is: C:\ProgramFiles\LucasArts\SWKotOR2), edit swkotor2.ini . ( sometimes you can't see the .ini extention of the swkotor.ini file, so swkotor.ini file will only show the notepad & on-it a gearing logo, see picture below ) and at the end of the [Game Options] section add EnableCheats=1 (see picture).

Cheats are now enabled. Now every game that you starts, new or with a previously saved one, while playing press simultaneously Left CTRL & Left SHIFT release it & quickly hit Tilde ( ~ ), ( ' ) or ( ` ) key for the us keyboard & the small ( ² ) for Europe (anyway whatever the button's apearance & is name ( ~ , ' , ` or ² ) its always on the left of 1on your keyboard), then during this game just hit the tilde key ( ~ , ' , ` or ² ). Also,some just need to hit the tilde ~ key.

It has been reported (Europe) that holding simultaneously the right Alt & 7 then release them & hit again the 7 will do the trick... Or, Alt+9+6. Then enter any of these cheats codes. Also when editing your .ini file under EnableCheat=1 add this line EnableConsole=1, then hold simultaneously the right Alt & 7 then release them & hit again the 7 & pause the game & enter the wanted cheats.

IMPORTANT NOTE :

KOTOR II have no console that appears in the screen, remember this character ( > ) that use to appear in the top-left corner of your screen in KOTOR 1, well it does'nt now. So Be Careful with the syntax.

Hint 2:

Before you can use codes in SW:KOTOR2, you must first enable them. Open the file "swkotor2.ini" with notepad or something similar ( sometimes you can't see the .ini extention of the swkotor.ini file, so swkotor.ini file will only show the notepad & on-it a gearing logo, see picture below ) the swkotor.ini file is in the SWkotor Directory & the path by default is:

C:\ProgramFiles\LucasArts\SWKotOR

Don't forget to put a space inbetween "giveitem" & the items code & a space inbetween a code & his number .

giveitem expl:

giveitemspacee_imp1_01

so should read:

giveitem e_imp1_01

a code's number expl:

setstrengthspace9999

you should read:

setstrength 9999

If you still have cheating problems after using the SaveGameEditor or with the in game cheats, you would want to use a Trainer, just don't forget to look at the "read me" file included in the zip for instructions.

Considering the depth of your guide here, I think it would be very hard for anythng to be mistaken. They know that I have absolutely no idea how to do things.

it's on your HDD... under the program files folder... here:

C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2

probably the quickest and simplest way is to do a search for the file you are looking for...

I assume you are looking for swkotor.ini, to enable the cheats?

click the start button (bottom left) and then the search, a window will open up, now select all files and folders from the list of options on the left of that window (also assuming you have win xp)... now type in the file that you are looking for i.e. swkotor.ini then click search...

Now, just click on your dive(C, D, or what ever your drive's letter is) then click on the "Program Files" folder, after that click on the "LucasArts" folder, & then click on the "SWKotOR2" Folder, inside there is a configuration file call

swkotor.ini

Sometimes you can't see the .ini extention of the swkotor.ini file, so swkotor.ini file will only show the notepad & on-it a gearing logo, see picture below :

Open it(with notepad), now its like a notepad & you'll remark that its devised in section, add this sentence:

EnableCheats=1

At the end of the section:

[Game Options]

see picture below to see where to write this:

Like i said its working like notepad so, click on "File" & choose "Save" & close it.

Now while in game press the Tilde key, its one of those on your key board:
~ (US/CAN)
' (US)
` (US/CAN)
² (Europe)
& its alway located on the left of "1" on your key board.

Once you've press this key, enter the wanted cheat code, Beware that you won't see any console like in jediknights2, you type in blindly so, becareful of the syntax coze if you mis-spell, the cheat will not work.

Hi, 1st of all its

EnableCheats=1

Then try to press simultaneously "Left CTRL" & "Left SHIFT" then hold them, then release them & quickly hit "Tilde"
~ (US/CAN)
' (US)
` (US/CAN)
² (Europe)

After that, type the wanted cheat code & hit "Enter", if its working, for this game just press the tilde again to entered cheats, but if you stop the game & let say tommorow you start a game you'll have to do the trick again, do you got it?

If you still have trouble after that, coze its a tricky thing to enable the cheats for this game, just use KSE, everuthing is easier, all you have to do is choose through the menu what you want to add in your game & its there.
