Trying to get back into the Shadow Ruins

I'm relatively new to the game. Been playing for a few weeks now. A friend reccommended this site for help. Been reading the tips others have offered. My problem is I left the Shadow Ruins and tried to get back in. I followed the tips that others offered. I downloaded Hedit to give me the Shadow Crystal. Worked like a charm. Problem is I still can't get back in. I suspect that I need to remove the old crystal to make the patch work, but I don't know enough about Hex Editing to fix this problem. Anyone got any advice on this?

Trying to get back into the Shadow Ruins?
Did you find a solution? I have the same problem and don't have any save games from before I left ruins (my own stupid fault).

It's been a while since I played the game but I do remember that one of the dungeons (and I think it IS the Shadow Ruins) cannot be re-entered once you leave it. If you don't have a saved game to go back to, you're out of luck - sorry

Regrettably No! Did not find a solution. I was hoping someone had experimented with Character editing to fix this problem. No luck there! Fortunately I did have another saved game from much earlier in my quest. I have since learned to keep 2 saves fairly close to each other. so I don't run across this problem again.

Why not save constantly on a different slots, and allways on a "special" slot before any main event
takes about 4 secs, and saves you a LOT of trouble

I appreciate those who replied back. I'm well past this point now, (thanks to a second saved game prior to this point). All I can say about it is, "live and learn, and learn from your mistakes." Perhaps later, someone will figure it out, or the makers will remove this particular bug. If it truly is a "bug!" It may be by design, just to complicate the game a bit, at this particular point. It is a bit annoying, but not an impassable obstacle.
We shall see!

Its not a bug... if u would listen to people in the game u would know it (Startostia or how did that name go? the star seer...)
