I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere on these boards, but you're at the max character level, 20 (11+9). I'm not sure if this is directly stated in the manual at all, but I do know that the class tables in the back of the manual only go up to level 20, though that doesn't necessarily mean much unless you don't switch to Jedi, which I don't think you can advance the story unless you do.

Unfortunately, if you want a higher jedi level, you'll have to start over. If you do, make sure that auto-leveling is turned off in gameplay options, and then purposely hold off on leveling up in your starting class while on Taris. This will "save" the level space under the max-20 to be taken once you switch to your Jedi class.

FYI-- the highest possible Jedi level you can have without cheating is 18-- you start at level 1, and are required to level up to 2 while working your way through the prologue, but I believe it is possible to reach level 20 in your starting class-- I don't know why you'd want to, but I think it's possible.

I think Kotor 2 might let you get up to level 40 or 50, but in the original level 20 is all you get. If you want higher a higher level Jedi, you need to start over and go through Taris without leveling up your character. It's tough if you do all of the sidequests (the dueling ring will take a couple of mid-fight saves), but it's doable.
Even with a level 11 Jedi, you should be able to beat the game. So if that's what you're worried about, don't be. It'll probably be a little more difficult on the last level when you face quite a few moderately-powerful bad guys, but it still won't be too bad.
If you just want to max out your Jedi powers though, you have to go back to square one and do it all over.

It is typical that these mistakes are made by those who perhaps played the sequel first, but one of the major things that was asked for by the people was for a larger level cap, and in KotOR II, that is 50.

It is difficult, however, to make it through all the event son Taris, with a level 2 character. I used a level five at max for Taris, and had to rely heavily on my other party members, specifically, Bastila and Canderous. Set up the character you want to be based around the type of Jedi you want to become when you get the chance.
