A bit confused about HOF mode playing

I read the faq and a few threads about playing in HOF mode, and I am still a little confused.

I played the whole game with a rag-tag bunch of characters, they were pretty crappy characters, but I modeled them after characters in a few books I read, and I had a lot of fun playing in normal mode with them. They are level 14-16 ish and none of them mulitclassed. I don't want to play the HOF mode with them, since they are done, and I don't know if they would fair very well.

I just made a new group of character that were reccomended from some of the better builds I found on this forum. I would like to play in HOF mode with them, but it seems the HOF mode is too hard to play with level 1 characters. Is this the way it is?

If it is, what are my options?

Can I level these new guys up a bit and then change the game to HOF mode?
Can I level these guys up in a new game, and then start a whole new HOF game and put them in it?
Or, should I just cheat and level them up a bit before starting HOF mode? And if this is my only option, what level should I start them at?

Assuming you don't want to play normal mode with them...

Like you say you could spot them 14-22 levels and then play HOF. The amount is up to you. I've heard of people getting 22 levels through normal and also much fewer levels. It depends on how much you kill and how much you level squat.

You could train them in normal but if you really don't want to play in normal I don't see why.

Obviously you don't want to go through the game again. So, cheating wouldn't be that bad. I only object to cheating before beating the game without it, which you already did. I think however level 22 would make the game a wee bit too easy. I'd try closer to level 16. It makes for a much more fun experience and use of better tactics (i.e. not complete hack and slash).

P.S. In the begining, even at level 16, you will still be overpowering. Don't start again at lower levels. Very soon you will find the game much more challenging.

If I cheat to level 16 or so, will I still get Xp right from the start of HoF mode?

Segreto, hey and welcome to the forum discusion on heart of fury. Please feel free to use the search option and type in Heart Of Fury, you will find a grip of threads on the subject.

Heart of fury is designed to replay the charactors you played in the first run adventure, except this time exp is greater so are the magic, (both new and old ones improved), enemy toughness, also levels go up higher.
You should be around 16th to play. The goblins at the start of the game will make run so be prepared for some tough formally week encounters. I think level cap is like 30. Spells go up. Some items are improved or new. You can keep old items in iventory as long as nothing is holding or equiped. This is asuming you export and imort your old charactors. hope this post helps. have lots of forgotten realms fun!!!!!!!!!!
