Ok, I'm still going though these incredible games - I could name them simply as great achievement - I thing it will be known long time after its release. I have spent a lot of time playing this, more than any other earlier game. Here, in this topic I'm going to post all my musings about BG series and my own PC, maybe some kind of story if time allows to do it (though my English is not the best one, but I could always try).

Firstly I will go with some kind of introduction of my PC.

His name is Manveru as he could be regarded as my Alter Ego in Forgotten realms he has the same name as mine. "Manveru" is Quenya translation of name "Michael". Why Quenya ? It will be shown later.

The name in this case is the key to the specific nature of our hero - "Who is as the God ?" fits very well as the name for Bhaalspawn and all connected events.

From the race/class point of view he is Half-elven F/M/C. Although he was raised in Candlekeep surrounded by Oghma followers he was thought by Gorion to worship Mystra the Goddess of Magic and Mystery. As we know Gorion didn't tell much about his past. Manveru knew only that he is the member of the family known as Telcontars, but no one heard about such a family in this party of Faerun. His character could be described as "True Neutral" . He simply belives that in everything balance is needed, but not in the Druids meaning maybe, he is not "Nature's servant" - he is more interested in people relations, balance in politics and maintaining order where efficiency is the most important even if some things are not always obtained rightfully , but the aim is to find the best solution.

Manveru from his own preference and because of his family armorial bearings prefers blue and gold colours and could be easily recognized by his blue robe.

Let's leave Manveru for the moment - since most of people know the background of the events of BG sage then I will move to some details about Telcontars themselves.

Quenta Telcontar (history of Telcontar family)

It was written by the order of Ecthelion, the last ruler of the Numen ducal family in 1369 RD on basis of Telcontar family diaries and other official documents both from Amn and Tethyr.

History of The Telcontar Family - rulers of The Duchy of Laurelad (the Golden Vale)

This family is known to live from the generations in the castle known as Formen Elenost (the stronghold of the northern star). This family shield was the golden eagle on the blue background.

Laurelad is placed on the border between Tethyr and Amn Empire.
No one knows why the castle and surrounding country have so strange names - there are legends that say that first far ancestor of the current rulers of the keep was traveler from another plane - the Forlindon city in realm known as Arda. The exact date of his arrival is not known, we know only his name - Atanvardo. His actions were described in many historical sources. He was known as the hero that killed many impossible and mysterious creatures using his powerful weapons. Finally he received the feud from the King of Tethyr and the ducal title. Why he received such a favor it is not known . Probably it will be one of the unresolved secrets of complicated Tethyr history.

Historical sources about Atanvardo are dated to be written nearly 1000 years ago.

Legends say also that he was an offspring of the powerful half-elven dynasty. In his former world everything had changed - magic was forgotten, the same about elves, that departed to the unknown place - and finally disappeared - further chapters described that this old world became more and more materialistic - it lost its magic long time ago, however it was said to be full of strange miracles that no one could understand - powerful weapons that allow to destroy the huge cities or devices that allow to fly like dragons or the birds.

With centuries Telcontars were known as the dukes with the strong faith - usually their sons and daughters became clerics and priests or priestesses, depending on gender of course. They were followers of many gods - we know that there were many dukes-priests of Waukeen (when family was connected with merchants families of Amn) or Helm or Tempus (when they were fighting with other Tethyr barons or even Royal forces). There were also several followers of other gods (even priests of Bhaal and Bane). Because of elven heritage we have some priests of elven gods.

The grandfather of current duke was the follower of Helm, Manvemir was known widely in the countries of the north, he traveled in his young years to Icewind Dale, Waterdeep and Sembia.

But the last two Telcontar dukes are known as the followers of Mystra, goddess of magic and mystery - they were also associated closely with Harpers that had huge influence on Duchy, as well as elven domains in Tethyr wood.
