I appear to be stuck on the Second Floor of the Ocean House Hotel. I have visited Room 211, and have received the Weekapaug Thistle. I have visited the room between the elevator and Room 208, which although very dark, didn't seem to have much of note. I've also opened Room 210 (not a simple task, as the icon for such was elusive), but am not able to enter the room. Finally, the rooms past Room 216 are blocked by debris in the hallway. At this point, I have no idea how to get off of this level of the hotel.

Am I suffering from a glitch, or is there something I'm missing?

You have to follow the hallway in the other direction (descending room numbers).
You'll end up in a large room with a caved in ceiling. You can get through the hole in the ceiling on to the next floor (walk on the beams).

I remember beeing stuck about there too. I came to beeing so desperate I considered bringing back the mother's diary (personal enough for you?). Lol, with that crazy ghost girl running around I was thinking less than reasonable. The answer came from above.

Lastat is right. Remember when you went into the hallway right of the elevator? As soon as you got near the light it bursts and then it's all pitch black. Follow the hallway all the way to the end and you'll see the ghost woman running into yet another hidden hallway. At this point the bersek ghost will throw anything he can at you but keep going. The end is very pitch-black also so when you get there it "appears" to be the end of the hall. If you give another right turn youll enter another hall, then the doors will sudenly explote and you can go through that room to search for the room with the torn cealing and the beams to climb into the last level where the necklace resides.

When I first played the game, I didn't know about that particular hall so I waited, waited and waited. At an angle you can find the icon for the door that you mentioned but when you press the icon, the door won't open. Eventualy, the door opens but you cant go through. That is very simple, you have to go through the description mentioned above because that door will be your escape door once you get the necklace and dropp through the caved in cealing.
