Limits on junk inventory?

Is there a limit on how many total items you can have in your junk inventory at any one time? Going through the Draedoth temple my shield got fried and when I tried to pick up another one from my junk inventory, the shields were all gone. All I had were lots of nether impalers, since the guards drop so many. I've started to avoid picking up too many of items I don't want because I don't want to lose the more useful/valuable junk. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone know what the max number of junk items you can have (if there is one)? Thanks

I think there are 18 slots and the game automatically drops the least valuable item when the junk inventory is full. If i remember draedoth temple correctly you were probably picking up demon shields worth approximately $800 and nether impalers worth aprox $2000. So sooner or later if you find enough impalers they will fill your junk inventory. D

I also noticed this problem with my characters. However, your equipment inventory is a seperate inventoryfrom your junk inventory. If you pick up a new shield it will go to your equipment inventory first. You may have to drop a lesser item from your equipment inventory to vacate a slot for it though. I can't say that I watched it that closely to say for certian. What I learned to do, was to keep a spare shield in my equipment inventory for just such occasions. Doesn't help with your present problem, but I hope it helps.

There isn't a limit to how many things you can put in your equipment inventory but you can never have more then one of a kind. D

Well, now that I have the shield of retribution the problem is solved. I had a couple of spare shields in my equip list, but nothing very good and without heavy shield skill the demon shields the guards kept dropping were not helpful. If I play through again I'll be more careful with my junk. Thanks everyone.
