??? t-3 on nar shaddaa (spoiler)

OK, I am really curious. I have control of t-3 on shaddaa (as I am meant to for the codes in the warehouse) and while his light/dark bar is as high as it can get to the light side, the background (environment, you know, that space around the character when you go to the character screen) is showing the environment for the most extreme dark side character. Is this normal for this quest ... sort of like pretending to fool the other droids? Or is it a glitch in my game? Is it important? ??? ???

Hmm, it sounds like a glitch to me. But it might be there, I have never really checked. But I dont see how this could affect your game so I would just let it be.

I have heard of that one and seen it myself. It never causes (for me, at least) anything more than a cosmetic annoyance, as the LS/DS meter is correct.

another question ...
Thanks for that, and in your answer I found another question, the light/dark side meter ... does that change with how I influence others? I realize that there are already lots of threads on influence, (and I found your thread with the link, nice job) but I am still confused. My female companions stay right at the top of the light meter once I got them there (I think I had something to do with that, no?) but my two male companions (Atton and Bao-Dur) will be at the top and then, if I spend alittle bit of time away, whoops, down they go until I spend more time with them (sort of like pouty little boys, but I should also mention that Disciple remains at the top of the light no matter how much I ignore him). I have managed to make Atton a jedi, but no such luck with Bao. I bought the game second hand and it came without a manual/book ... so, I am exploring and discovering as I go in the game and here at this site (many times a huge help!). However, I am just now going onto my last planet and was wondering about this small aspect. Loving the game! Just some minor quirks.

Yes, each time you gain Influence with a compainion they start to mirror your 'image'. What I mean by that is basicly when you get Influence with a character they start to follow you, either up the Lightside of the LIGHTSIDE/DARKSIDE METER or down to the Darkside.

As The Reaper says: at 100% influence with a character their alignment will be nearly identical to yours. At 0% influence their alignment will be nearly opposite to yours. At 50% their alignment will be neutral. This is the only real way of assessing what influence you have with an NPC.
Why nearly? Under normal circumstances, no NPC character will obtain LS/DS mastery, even with full/no influence. With the Jedi Master's enlightment feat (or the Sith Lord's equivalent: corruption feat) it is possible to get mastery for an NPC; but it is bugged. The mastery disappears frequently - usually after an area transition.

Hmm. I have managed to make all my NPC's jedi (with the exception of the droids and the dark members, I am playing light this time) and all right now are standing at ls mastery with the + con., +wis. ect... and have saved the game to go into my 'loose ends' stage. I haven't started yet (anticipation is a good thing) ... so I will be curious as to what happens. Learned from another post that I should have waited to bump up characters levels until I made them jedi, wished I had known I could do this, since Bao is like a 18 tech and a 1 jedi. Oh well. Again, thanks for the tip on the manual!

At the simplest, just press the 'quote' button and delete whatever text you don't need. Leave the things in square brackets as they are.

It is possible to make the characters of opposite alignment into Jedi, especially if you are playing Dark Side; just find out from an influence guide such as this one (
http://gamerhelp.com/xbox/StarWarsKnigh ... 2485.shtml) what acts will get you influence and put the character in the party while you do them. Find out what acts will lose you influence and remove them from the party while you do them (or utilise the Kreia Effect). I've currently got Bao-Dur as a Jedi with Dark Mastery, so it is doable. It does mean you have to take a few LS/DS points you don't want in doing these inluencing deeds, but you can soon claw them back
Also remember that you only need the influence at the time you make them Jedi; as far as I can tell they remain Jedi if you then lose influence with them again afterwards, and it can even be a good thing if they lose influence so much they shift to opposite alignment; you can use them to cast 'other side' Force powers cheaply.

I didn't twig this either until I played KOTOR1. Then I kicked myself. It's swings and roundabouts, anyway. Bao-Dur, for example, gets 6 Skill points per level as a tech, but only 3 once you make him a Jedi. Other things, like hit-points gained per level also change. Depends what you want to use them for I guess.

Well, thanks for the tip here, I will remember it on the next game, which I intend to start right away, and apply those things I learned this time around. I am going to play dark this time, so it should be like a new game, I believe. We shall see!

Basically, you need to add extra 'things in square brackets' to separate out the different parts you want to reply to. Wherever you want to start a quote you need to have <quote=nameofpersonyourequoting> and wherever you want to end a quote you need to write </quote> . (Except of course you need to replace the <> in my example with square brackets)
Did that make sense?
