In the character profiles, under THAC0, there are two numbers, one number being in parentheses. What does the number in parentheses mean? Is that the critical hit roll number?

lol, i was just trying to work that out earlier. do you have a manual cos it may say something in that. my copy has no manual though. i was wondering if one was their base THACO and the other was their THACO after weapons and items are taken into account. thats just a guess though cos i don't actually know :)

mr sir, you hit it right on the button.

First number is base (for class and level), number in parentheses is adjusted for strength, dex (missile weapons only), and spells I believe. Off the top of my head, I don't think magical weapon bonuses are included in that, but I might be wrong. Pretty easy to verify, though.

thought it must be something like that. puzzled as to why they would not include weapon THACO bonuses though. guess i'll have to have a look and see if it does lol :)

Weapon Pluses are included in ()

I am pretty sure the magic pluses do get included. I have had a character swap weapons of the same type and unless I am having memory lapses the THACO in the parenthesis did change when I checked the character info screen. As Aerich said is pretty to check.

Agreed, philos. I checked too, and magical weapons plusses are included in the modified Thaco calculations.
