Shadow Ruins got me stumped need help!

Ok, I've done everything I can figure out in the shadow ruins, and have been able to kill everything in sight. I've restarted many times in different earlier stages to try alternate orders. I'm in what I believe is the last room. I've gotten the sword of shadows. However I can not figure out where the last of 4 symbols is, "the triangle with a circle." I'm now in the room with the 3 gardians surrounded by pillars. I only have 1 shadow door available, the one on the left. I can't figure out how to activate the other 3 doors, nor what activates the 3 gardians. I'm sure they are related, however I'm totally stumped and have been for 2 and 1/2 weeks. I'm trying to get to the shadow lord just can't figure it out.:speech:

Once you have the ShadowSlayer, you must "use" it on Kingstons Statue in the room left of where his spirit was tormented. He will appear again and lead you onward.

I wanted to thank you for the reply! I already had the shadow slayer and used it. In fact I had figured everything else out up to that point, but I was stuck. I can't believe I spent 2 and 1/2 week in the shadow area and never ran across the chests. Anyways I really wanted to thank you because the first link was the one I needed.
