One ad that irritates the crap out of me.

Ok, there is one ad, dunno if you guy's have seen it, but it's this MTV thing that when you get "near" it, not on it, NEAR, it expands across a lot of the forum functions, making it a pain to have to refresh and make it disappear. Whats worse is it continuely appears, and I mean every 3/5 ads for me.

Is it possible to make just that one ad disappear, it's really making it hard to start a new thread, search, click the forums above (GameBanshee forums > General > GameBanshee Discussion, that kinda thing) we well as the entire user panel above. Is it possible?

Buck rents out the space to an addprovider which then rotates the various adds in that program.
So as such Buck has little to no real influence as to which specific adds that are shown.
He can - as I've read in the past with inappropiate advertisments - request certain adds to not be shown, but outside cancelling the agreement, I don't think he has much real influence on the addrotation.

Sib, what browser are you using? Internet Explorer? I used to get tons of those same ads, and just slugged through because I didnt know what to do, but recently I switched to firefox, an I havent seen a single expansion ad or pop up ad yet. :)
The worse ad for me was the Star Wars Battle Front for mobile phones ad, It would automatically expand when the page loaded  part of the reason I siwtched.

I don't get any of the expanding ads or most of the pop-ups using Opera.

I have had the add Siberys is talking about (I think) with FireFox as well.
Adds expanding isn't a techonology specific to IE, so FF users will (can) experience the same.

Yeah, I get the one with the car thing, that expands, but I think you can either close it down, or move cursor and it disappears.

There's one annoying add that completely slows down my browser, but scrolling down fixes that, can't remember which ad though.

Please get rid of the ad for Final Destination 3. It's not funny to have the browser suddenly scream on you, especially if you have just opened your media player looking for some songs to play.

I can't of course give you a screenshot of the sound, but the ad in question is at the top of the page.

So what actually happens when you rollover the ad? I'd like to see it before I request that it be pulled, but I can't seem to find it while browsing the site. It'll probably gone soon anyway, once the movie hits theaters.

Nothing, the ad lets out a loud scream as soon as it is loaded.

Not for me, only when I roll over. Unfortunately, if you move too far with the menu selections at the top, you nail it, or if you go to a walkthrough for reference. It's a mite annoying, but I just leave the top alone when I see it. Unless, of course, my mouse happens to be over that area when the page loads...

Oh yes, that ad is extremely annoying.

I always set it off, because I use Mozilla tabbed browsing, and open a heap of tabs when I go to each forum. Then I close them using the x, and unwittingly set off the scream.

Though that ad is gone now for me, instead I just have the 'click here for a free ipod'...

I agree with Buck, just wait out the ad, it'll be gone soon enough.

Bloody ****...the ad came again, and this time I SWEAR I did NOT put my mouse over it, I simply put my cursor over Search (And did NOT touch the area of the Flash ad), and the bloody ad screamed again.

Goddamn it, I seem to be getting that ad on every single page, and it even screamed at me twice on one page. Good thing I wasn't wearing my headset.

When is the freaking movie going to show?

Man, that really sucks, the thing has stopped showing for me.

Hope it ends soon, because I know how annoying it is.

It came out today, if I remember correctly. That might not mean it will stop, but hopefully it will. I haven't seen it myself in over a week.

I hate to say it, but the older "Ugo" ads aren't as bad. I just hate the misleading ads, which look like computer errors or messages. I've never clicked on one of course but something like that is obviously meant to mislead and misdirect people in possibly malicious ways.

Not sure if this contributes much, but I don't get any ads. At all. All I see is a black void with "Advertisement Loading" printed within. Has anyone else got this?

I've had that before. It may be connected with pop-up blockers/browsers. I don't get it as often now though after Opera messed up a little...I'll have to reinstall it one of these days... :o
