Glad to see it is not just me getting that. I briefly wondered if my internet connection was going wonky again..

It's the same for me. GB is working very intermittently for me at the moment. :(

Me too. Same screen I was getting a few weeks ago which I posted about before.

This is the first time that it has happened so often for me. I usually get one or two a month, if I'm unlucky.

Database problems can arise from many things, so know that when such an error happens it isn't your computer which is the issue.

However, such problems can also be difficult to fix, but I'd think we all can rest safely that Buck will take hand off the problem, so just have some patience and I'm sure this problem will be fixed soon enough :)

(although it is annoying not being able to post on the favorite forum :D )

My computer works on the other forums after I posted this, and did not find anything. However, I returned to find that the problem has miraculously disappeared.

Seems we are good for now. :) (Or at least I am)

I'm still hammering down the exact cause of the database issues, but it seems that they're under control for the time being.

There's been another flood of these all over the place. Earlier I tried to post in SYM repeatedly and would encounter database errors when I hit the respond button and when trying to post my message, and several times now certain forum pages or threads have decided not to load for me...

This is the first time I've had these problems in a few weeks, thought best to mention it.

I'm starting to get an awful lot of these database errors now, since yesterday. Almost every other page I'm receiving one :(

I've had problems with it all evening. At least half the time I'm trying to load a page or post something, I get one of those errors.

Have any of you sent a PM to Buck, telling him this?

I've had the same problem for the last couple of days, regardless of the browser I use.

I considered PMing Buck, but according to the message on the page that shows up, there are emails apparently going to "the technical staff."
So I wondered if Buck wasn't already aware of the problem.

I had the same problem when entering the site today, and again when trying to reply to a PM. It seems ok this time though. It's definitely this site, because no other site I visit brings on the problem.
I shall now try replying to the PM again...

Yes, they seem to have disappated this afternoon.

I had to beat them off with a +3 Broadsword earlier though.

It seems that our server hardware and bandwidth are no longer the bottlenecks when it comes to overall performance. Our traffic is on the rise and we're seeing continuous searching through millions of records in our forums and subsites, which in turn causes things to get a bit sluggish.

Rebooting the server or restarting the database services seems to alleviate the problem for a period of time, so I might have to look into doing this on a somewhat regular basis. I'll be doing some more research to see if I can tweak some settings to get more performance, and I apologize for the inconvience in the meantime. I don't like the errors any more than you do.

Twice over the last few days when I got a database error while I was trying to post, I refreshed the page as directed I received another error specifying that an Invalid thread was selected...
I just got the error again:
Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
I don't know if everyone is getting this as it's two seperate errors, but they are likely connected. I only get this when I try to post/edit following a Database Error.

I was just about to post saying that the database errors seem to have dissapated but I just got one  .

I was going to say that when I did get them I did receive those invalid thread link message, so its not you :) Just be careful though, because I ended up with a triple post after trying a combination of back/refresh etc upon encountering that message.

I just had a sudden group of these hit me... and reloading the page only reloaded the message, about a dozen times in a row. In fact, I've been trying to see this thread for the same amount of time. Now it's gone, but other strange things are popping up. The main page just showed Slade as online, but his profile had his light off and his last action recorded in the mid afternoon, my time, yesterday.
