Nosferatu vs Malkavian

Hi Everyone!
This is my first post and I have a couple of questions for you. I just finished the game as an melee anarach Brujah and very much enjoyed it. The only thing I thought was boring was that i sucked using all the cool guns that came available, so I decided that my next time through would be a rifleman. I looked through all the races and the coolest ones (in my opinion) was the ventrue, Malkavian and the Nosferatu. Since the ventrue did not interest me that much my choice is now between the Malk and Nosferatu. I played to after Elizabeth Dane with my Malk but i am getting second thoughts. The dialogue options are really cool and entertaining, but i found out that its really cool to sneak around with obfuscate(the exact opposite to my Brujah). Now my first question is which is the general opinion of the most entertaining of them? Will they be equally good at RAnged weapons in the end? Who does a Nosferatu gets guns, does he buy them in gunshops like the other classes(isn't that a mascuerade violation?) and is any of these classes any good for my purpose to use guns? and what does Auspex do?
Thank you in advance

I don't think the game's implementation of the Nosferatu is all that great with regard to the Masquerade. You can still talk to most people as if you were normal. Sure, some won't give you missions but it's not a big deal. You can still talk to all the weapons merchants so that's not a problem.
This is my second time through, the first time I was a Tremere, that was sweet. I was looking for a really different experience as a Nosferatu but it just isn't there. Or I haven't found it.

Most peoples initial reaction of you is different with Nosferatu, they'll be digusted or scared, and/or just insult you. But when you explain you've been in a "freak blender accident" or some such, they'll treat you as normal though. It could've been implemented better but it's still pretty fun. You should try talking to everyone that's "talkable", sneak up on them, and if the speakicon appears, talk to them. You don't have to worry about losing masqueradepoints by just showing yourself.
Auspex increases you wits and perception, to up to thre points in each, when maxed out. In game that means you'll have better defense and hackign abilites and do more damage with guns. And you'll se "auras" of all creatures, sometimes through walls. Sounds neat, but i haven't found it that useful. I guess if you want to be supergood at guns, it's the way to go. You can't sneakkill with guns, so in roleplaying terms playing nosferatu maybe isn't a great idea

In my opinion you should play the Malkavian to the end. At my first time playing the game, I played it as a Ventrue and I really liked it due to the fact that I am not much of a combative type.
The second time I played as a Malkavian and let me tell you that they ROCK! I havent played with a nosferatu but I dont think they have as interesting and special dialogs that Malkavians have.
It of course depends on whether you are more satisfied with interesting dialogs or not.
The Malkavians are fine with ranged weapons; I used ranged weapons all the way with my Malkavian. I have read somewhere thought that the Nosferatu are better in melee attacks...
Oh, and now that you have played the game once already, if you pay attention to the seemingly nonsense that the Malkavian say, you will realise that it seems that they know everything from the beginning! Which is very cool
Hope this helped...

Malkavians rock !!! My favourite Clan after the Lasombra ( which are not playable of course ). Nosferatu are nice, but I think they are lacking in the story department. The developers probably thought not many would like to play them anyway....

Well in the game Malkavians are most definately the most fun to play with. The hilarious conversations with npcs really bring a new element to the game, just trying to figure out what the heck you are saying... oh and domination and dementation are fun disciplines to play with.
As for the Lasombra... its too bad Troika is out of business, id love to have gotten a chance to play around with obtenebration. *sigh*

It is a shame that Troika didn't go into more depth with their storyline. That is, they didn't use the incredibly rich backround story more, and have more sub quests.
What I want to know is what on earth "Obtenebration" would look like. According to the White Wolf website this is "a means by which they call forth a tangible "living" darkness, manipulating it at their whim. Clan doctrine holds that this "darkness" is in fact the stuff of the vampiric soul, which has been simultaneously strengthened and corrupted by the Embrace". I can't seem to visualise what this would look like and what it's practical use would be.
I'm probably missing the point!

Try 'em all
All I can tell you is that, rather than asking for advice an how to play who as whot for when, just play every bloodline through for a full game. Go in with no preconceptions at all.
You clearly come from a D & D type of environment, where you have to select you character's skill type. This is VTMB. Every character already has their skills, and you can adjust them as you like. Play into a character's strengths, and I think you'll find them all equally enjoyable, but you might find that you prefer a specific one or two. I've played them all, and now I'm exclusively Tremere.
I'll tell you the mistake I made at first. I'd just come out of a series of FPS games - the Sgt. Rock things where you get armed up the hoo-haa and run around blowing stuff up. I carried that attituded into my first few games of VTMB, and got my butt kicked. I then realised that this is not an FPS, despite how much it looks like one. It's an RPG. I learned to be the vampire. Since then, my enjoyment of the game has greatly increased.
Be the beast.

Malk shooters...
...are fun to play. There's just something so fiendish about a master rifleman (or woman) who can turn invisible, see you through brick walls, make you kill yourself, try to kill everyone around you or just collapse giggling, or sit in a safe spot a quarter mile away and pop a cap in ya.
