HK-47 and droid-speak - what's the point?

Post by eskilla »

I noticed that one of the options in leveling up HK-47 is a feat that enables him to communicate with non-basic speaking droids (sorry, can't remember the name). What does it DO!? I have played the game through, but can't figure where that ability would come in handy, although that could be because last time I played DS and was too busy killing things.

i've never bothered with it as i have never seen the point in it either, especially as i think t3 can automatically talk to droids anyway

Possible spoiler!!!!

I believe this has something to do with the cut "Droid Factory" planet for several reasons. Mind you this is only my opinion & not based on any statement made by the creators or Lucasart.

When talking to HK, you eventually get a line about how you can understand as many languages as he does. You end up showing him the translator you got from the 1st HK on Telos. He comments that it is similair to his processor & acts as a beacon for the assasin droids. When your around they know it. He goes on to say you can track them as well & the conversation rolls to the driod factory.

The rest I can only speculate

You probably went to the driod factory & like Mandalore on Onderon, you are forced to have HK in your party. With his driod language skills, he probably had something to do with opening doors or a major area for the party.... something T3 could not do.

Only guessing here though

I think I read something about this, HK-47 and this "droid tracker" of his, was a part of a subplot that was cut from the game. It involved confronting the HK production facility on a moon.

I think it was in the first game as well...

Not sure about function though...

Did they add Korriban as well as or instead of the droid planet? As (highlight to read - spoilers) Lonna Vash was supposed to be on teh droid planet

From what I read Korriban was a planned place as was the droid factory / planet. But Korriban made the final cut & driod place did not. So your spoiler was put on Korriban & band-aided into the story instead of a plot or lines like the others
