Hehe nice one. Don't really see why they should ban this though.

That's funny Ad!
Actually, yesterday I saw a comment made by the vice president (I think) of MS Japan regarding XBox360. "Most of Japanese games on PS2 are men running around with swords in their hands killing others. We will give them an opportunity to play something new", or that sort of line. Then, someone in a forum replied "Well, well, about two third of American games are men running around with guns in their hands killing others...."
I just laughed to see that, but if that is the understanding of Japanese game industry by heads of MS Japan, no wonder Xbox360 hasn't sold as many as they have expected in Japan.

I really fail to see why it's banned, we have plenty of ads like that (well not the same, but a bunch of people running around doing stuff).

It is a funny one indeed, but due to the violence it portrais I can understand (don't agree with it) why it is "banned" though.

@Xandax: Violence?

I've had a very violent youth then.
If this playful imitation of a gunfight is considered too "violent", well, I don't know, then these people better take a look in their back garden when their pre-teen children are playing.
(I wonder if when you're dead, you can re-enter the game after counting to ten. That was the rule in my time).

*runs up and shoots Siberys in the back*
BANG!
@Xandax: Well isn't that what's on the thing anyway, it seems like they are simply showing what happens when everyone gets addicted to X-Box

Yes - I agree it isn't particular violent, but the scene it shows is indeed.
And as I see it there is a strong current of very political correctness flowing through the american society at the moment along side many european countries, so I don't at all find it wierd/strange that this add isn't shown. Stupid perhaps, but not strange
Violence in computergames - along side sexual content - is very much in focus at the moment, with an increased tendency the last few years. So I suspect it isn't to get into any kind of trouble that this add isn't shown.
Just look at the GTA-Hot Coffee affair, and the "violent computergame list" for christmas etc.
Heck - even in very "liberal" Denmark we have increased "debate" about violence in computer games.
To bad though, it is indeed fun imo - and all that I've shown it to found it funny as well, so I'm sure it would go over very well here in Scandianva .... well Denmark anyways.

I'm surprised it wasn't shown in Canada, when I recently started seeing a bunch of commericals with some off hand comments about male genitals in them.

That's great, along with these new Geico ads I can no longer immediately change the channel when they break to commercial

Just goes to show you... you may be able to ban the commerical, but it's not going to stop us from watching it.

Compared to some I've seen recently (notably the Boost mobile commercials with the maid yelling at some guy who od'ed and a prostitute recessitating someone she calls "governor") it doesn't seem to be that bad either.
