Well, for adamantite golems, I cast lower resistance 3 or 4 times, greater malision, then hold monster. But there's usually only one of those at a time...How many golems are there?

It can only be hit with a +3 or more weapon.

Go for the door, the golem is to big to pass and If you have lilacor, use the weapon longer reach to beat the living hell out of him without being hurt.if not..well just hit him.

There is only the Iron golem left. I took the three magic weapons in the room and ran through the door where it can't follow me, but I still want to kill it though.
I do not have the spells mentioned above unfortunally

Tried the Elven Court Bow +3 with Minsc but no effect with that weapon, even with +1 arrows.

How about casting lightning bolt. Sounds like a *shocking* good idea to use on an *iron* golem. Don't know if it works...

Iron golem are immune to magic with 2 exeptions : fire heals and lightning slows.
But you need +3 weapons to hit them.
Or you can just go now and leave that big dump thing there, it cannot follow you.
spoiler:

If you dont have any, build the flail of ages, you need all 3 heads to get the +3 bonus

I believe it has to be " to hit " not to your THACO total.

Smoelf, use the hammer+1,+4 vs Giants you just grabbed! Fight him with your most powerful fighter and boost him! (bless, chant barkskin) And don't forget healing spells and potions.

If you lack +3 weapons early in the game, use the 'Enchant Weapon' spell, which allows you to create +3 maces, axes, short- and longswords, which will last for 24 hours!
With this spell you should be able to equip most of your party menbers with the required weaponry.

Use Drakron's suggestion! If you don't have Lilarcor, like Drakron suggested, use the hammer and the fully assembled flail of ages and any other +3 weapons available. Summon some creatures (elementals work well, if you have a druid) for fodder. Haste your strongest characters, and go into the room for the attack. Have the summoned creatures go first, so they will take the brunt of the attack. It will be a slow process. Have a cleric behind your fighters and start healing the one who begins to take damage. They may not need the healing on the first hit, but by the time the spell is finished, you probably will need it then. If you are too damaged, pass the weapon on to someone else who can use it (Cleric?) and retreat that character for healing. Hope this helps.

I personally have a cloudkill wand that was recharged and usually two clouds will kill all type of golem save one (I forgot which one).
Or the same theory on beating a greater werewolf/wolfwere... get regenerating rings (Adventure Mart/Kangaxx) on your best fighter with boots of speed(Astral Sphere), then quicksave. Lead one golem to you and beat the crap out of it, try +3 slashing or crushing weapons and one of them will work...

if you have Minsc, Korgan or Keldorn just haste him and use strength of one put your healer behind him and start pounding with your new hammer +1 +4 vs G. you may have to use a potion or two also.

The best way of killing Iron/Adamantine Golems in the de'Arnise Keep, the Windspear Hills and the Planar Sphere is a ranged REALLY +3 weapon. The following weapons are available:
1. Tansheron's Bow (Trademeet) used without ammo.
2. The Sling of Everard (Joluv) used without ammo.
3. Rifthome Axe (Bodhi's quests)
4. Azuredge?? (Bernard - the description does not reveal the level of the axe but another post on this forum has stated that Azuredge can hit an Iron Golem)
Do not forget that when using a ranged weapon with ammo, the level is done by the ammo and not by the weapon itself. If you fire Arrows +1 from a Mana Bow +4 then you are using a +1 weapon (and not +4 or +5) as far as the hit capability is concerned.
The golem is too big to pass a door. Simply go and fire phanotm arrows/bullets or throw the axe at him until he falls.

The damn things cast some kinda poison AE spell too though. I used a protection from poison spell I bought in athkatla and had minsc beat it to deeath. There is a +3 Axe called frost reaver right in that room with him anyway.
